There is a lot excitement around Leo.  We are seeing the progression within the [ecosystem](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-ecosystem-digital)  and it is starting to get on the radar of some.  So what are we looking at?


To start, as we repeatedly point to, Leo is building.  We are seeing a team of developers create code that is translating into an evolving platform.  Updates are coming frequently, especially with regards to [Leofinance](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance).


Right off the bat, this separates Leo from most other things in [cryptocurrency](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency).  Even on Hive, how many projects do you see where nothing is happening?   Essentially they are dead projects.  Even the [website](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-website) looks the same, without a single change, from a number of years ago.


Of course, development isn't necessarily going to lead to success.  This is most notable in the value of the [token](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token).  There are many projects that are building yet appear to be going nowhere.


Here is where a [business](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business) plan enters the picture.  Leo stands out to me since there is a way to generate [revenue](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-revenue).  We are see the token being positioned at the center of the ecosystem.  This means there is incentive to accumulate and hold.


In this article we will go through what is going to make [$LEO](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leo) valuable.

## Access Token


The first thing we have to look at is the idea of LEO providing access.  This is something that is a relatively new idea, following the model set down by [Elon Musk](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-elon-musk) and [Twitter](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-twitter).


We are looking at something similar to Twitter Blue.  Under that program. people have a monthly [payment](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-payment) which gives them access to other features on the plaform.  One example is long form content.


With Leo, we have the idea of polls, links posting, and an assortment of other features that requires a specific amount of [Leo Power](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leo-power) to access.  Beyond that, we can see [governance](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-governance) tied to it.  As one stacks more LEO, the ability to engage and influence grows.


For example, let us take polls.  What if there was the ability to keep a poll open an extra length of time (or having it shorter) if you have a certain amount of LP?  Here is one feature that those who aren't at that level cannot access.  


Another might be a future [financial services](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-financial-services).  Think if having reduced fees associated with a [loan](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-loans) if you are above a certain amount.


The point is that we build benefits into the token.  This is a rather novel approach because then we are dealing with need.


## Value Capture Token.


This is probably the easiest to spot.


Simply put, the value of the token will appreciate as the value of the ecosystem expands.  The token is what captures the value.


Of course, this can be defined in many different ways.  Here is where a business approach with metrics has to be established (and promoted).  So far, we discuss factors such as MAUs, pageviews, and visits.  These are all standards in the digital world, utilized by social media over the decades.  It is a good starting point.


The idea is that, at some point, the market will reflect the value in its price action.  Markets have their own mind so there is no guarantee, especially in the short term.  Over time, however, the market should follow suit.


Value will drive price long term.  We know this often isn't the case, something called hype.  Unfortunately, that ends up short-lived.


This approach will ensure long term viability of the ecosystem.


## Increasing Revenue


We discussed this at length so there is no point going into too much detail.  You can look over other articles to see the finer points.


The key is the revenue model.  It started with the Hive Power delegation which is no longer out of inflation.  The buy demand is being placed on the market, swallowing $LEO to distribute to the delegators.


We know the gearing up for LeoAds is taking place.  This is going to drive more demand for the token simply by the money coming from ads.  If we couple that with some FOMO, we could see things move to another level.


Finally, like the access token features, we will see more added to the revenue equation.  He is where we look to keep growing the profitability of the site, which gets fed into buying the token.


All of this will make $LEO valuable.
