0.000 HBD5 New Games For April That YOU Should BUY! - Gaming Top 5 - Part 59.
# A new month is just days away, and so are the new games that come with it. ##### Now that the gaming year is well under way, we are finally seeing some bigger anticipated titles hit the shelves and online markets for you to enjoy. With 2 major triple A titles coming out this month, we are starting to be spoiled for choice so far in 2018. ## Here are 5 new games for April 2018. #### 5 - God Of War – April 20th. **PS4 Exclusive** - Kratos has had many adventures, killing demons, titans and gods alike, but the series never really developed past God of War III. This game has been teased for the past couple of years at major events like E3 and GamesCon, and it is set to shake up the typical layout of the game style. Gone are Kratos' swords, instead he is now wielding an awesome looking axe. The gameplay and story is centred around Kratos and his son, who will act as a sort of 'buddy' that will help you along your journey, but I suspect, hinder in other places too. The graphics seen in the trailers look phenomenal, though I suspect they may have been lowered slightly for the actual console. And the world in which your are situated looks equally impressive. Think I may have to steel the kids console so I can play this game as I was a huge fan of the first 3 instalments. Although the game is in essence very similar to titan, it is very much different. Instead of man eating giants, in this game you are greeted with man eating giant ogres in a more western setting. The world is vast and full of content that can keep you occupied, full of side missions, unique fighting situations, combined with a fully destructible environment make for some awesome looking action long after the story has finished. The art style is also very similar to that of Attack on Titan with its anime look and animations but remaining unique in its own right. The game is loosely connected to the recent films in that the last game took place between Dawn and War of the Planet of the Apes, and this one is set after War. With the game being a VR title, it gives you a first person perspective of the Ape you play who is being held captive while the humans try to find a cure for the simian virus, and your job is to escape by any means necessary. The plot is a little simple, but the way in which its executed looks very impressive to say the least, and graphically it looks fantastic when compare to any other VR game. Thankfully though, this turn based strategy game captures that essence of what made the original games so good in the first place. The look of the mechs from the original games remain unchanged, as too the weaponry, and even the clan sigils are the same (Clan Smoke Jaguar for life bitches). But now with it being a more strategy based game, you will spend more time in the garage customising your mechs, while being mindful of your resources and how much you salvage from each battle. At first glance it may look very slow and methodical, but when you play the game, it is fast paced and very challenging. Graphically it is very good, and many of the assets seen in the game are lifted straight from the mech warrior 4 game and its expansion packs but have been noticeably updated with higher poly counts and much higher detail textures. Little touches like this is exactly how they recaptured that look and feel of the original but with a modern touch. Just take a look at Bioshock as an example, but this game takes that same idea and has revived it to make something quite special. Survival games are nothing new, but a steampunk one that has a dab of strategy, a touch of despair, and a sprinkle of empathy make this game all the more unique. Essentially you have to create a city for the survivors of a dystopian world that has frozen over. You have to find resources, build various types of buildings, research to upgrade various assets, and a whole slew of other things in order to build a fully working city in the middle of nowhere. But the kicker is, you have have to abandon some moral ethics as you have to do whatever it takes to survive, if that be working the elderly to death, employing robots and risk having a human revolt or worse, hire child labour for the dirtiest jobs possible. The game is full of little dilemmas that you have to overcome in order for your city to run as smooth as possible. The graphics are on point, and exceed any expectation I had about the game, and it features some unique mechanics which make the game all the more enjoyable. [Image Source](http://www.frostpunkgame.com/) Out of all the games here. It is frost punk I am looking forward to playing more than anything. As a fan of real time strategy games, this one has all the hall marks to become an instant classic among the gaming community. But next month is right around the corner and there is one game in particular that I have been waiting all year to play. And I can not wait any longer. Some great titles for April that you should all be playing when they release, and I would love to here what you think about them. Thanks for reading. > # Make Steemit Work For You!
