**_I Had To Say It!_**




_Well well well! Here we are! I had to mention this right? I swear it was the mention of this that attracted it!_




_Remember I wrote a post about the DCT-470? And how it's better than the 450? Well here is the 450, I think in terms of stripping it apart it might be exactly the same, might have improvements or not I really am not sure. The one I do know about is the difference in the way the input connects to the engine._

_This one is a crappy one! A nice box but crappy to fit!_

**_The Difference I Know Of!_**



_So as I said in the previous post this is the difference and putting a visual to it might help a lot! The DCT-470 has a spline for a input._

_The DCT-450 on the other hand has something far more crappier! This key system that needs to be in the correct position in order for it to join properly! Yeah I'm sure you think well that can't be too hard..._

_All I have to say is OKAY!_

**_As Always!_**


_So the first thing I tend to remove would be the valve-body. No particular reason at all I just do... One can argue that it might be the most sensitive and that's why it must be removed first but that is bollocks!_

_It is after all protected by a sump pan and once you get to that point you'll be removing the valve-body anyways!_

_But here she is all smackingly good looking!_

**_A Proper Clutch!_**


_Don't get it wrong they do tend to burn as well! For some folks that don't know what slippage is well they burn them the fastest!_

_Anyways, truth be told I do love this concept a lot... it's a manual/auto build with a wet clutch... Manual in terms of it still having gears and automatic in terms of it shifting... well automatically!_



_But what stands out the most is the size of this clutch... it's almost three times the size of standard clutches!_

**_Now That's What I Like To See!_**


_Oh that juicy inside of the build! This is going to be a fun one!_

_I've not tore down a great deal of them thus far though... but every one I've done was a great deal of fun, the reason being that it makes you think a little, a little too much I'd say!_

_Honestly and it's not to boast but I wonder how much of a struggle the bloaks who don't know what they are doing would have with this!_

**_A Sticky Situation!_**


_Oh I failed to mention! Getting those bolts removed holding the bearings in place... well you need a bit of fire going with those! That's always fun pulling out the big guns!_


_From here on it's fairly easy going ey, well sort of! Everything that's in the way is now out of the way!_
_Oh wait I still need to remove those syncro rings just incase!_
_I have mentioned that I would fancy this build in my car?_

**_Torn Open!_**



_Oh the humanity! Check out those thick and bulky gears!_


_Check them out my good people! With the casings removed the internals are now exposed, we're not done yet hey! We've got some ways to go still!_

_Now there is one kink with splitting these casings and it is that once you split it you can't let it drop back down again! There is a plastic tube that might or might not break!_
_Fortunately I did manage to get it pulled open and without worry!_

**_Removing The Selectors!_**


_Now before we can move on we need to pull out a few things first!_

_All of that I am holding onto! It all joins into one another in a puzzled manner! Oh yeah puzzling it out is a brainer ey! A real brainer!__


_Now just check out those gears! Big and bulky, but have you noticed that there doesn't seem to be any immediate damage on the eyes ey! Well that's because of the fact that the problem almost never lies on the gears itself!_

_I mean those are some thick gears and they wont just get hurt because of hurting! Nah it would take a special kind of stupid to get that done!_

**_Ahh The Sight Of It!_**


_Whelp! The sight of this is fantastic!_

_At-least I think so, I suppose not everyone would agree with me on this one though!_
_But seeing all those cluster of gears does kind of make me happy, I feel content with myself to say the least? Why I don't know!_

_Mayhaps because almost nobody in town would work on this transmission! We've had a bunch come in for a teardown and then complain about the price and they took there transmission and left... only to return a few weeks later to be fixed..._

_The proof is in the pudding! We know what we're doing!_

**_The Last Bit And Likely The Problem!_**



_Now this is the problem on most of them!_


_Seems a little hectic right? Must be?_


_It must be a real killer to have to send in your transmission just to be torn down like this for a new filter?_

_Trust me I'd be somewhat pissed off! That's more than often the problem with them, the lack of service makes the oil filter clog up and well it causes wonky shifts, soooooo all in all a bad car!_

_However! For me that can do all this by my self! Well that is amazing to say the least!_
_But can you imagine having to teardown all this just for a stupid filter!_

_If I could voice my opinion I'd say this is far too much work for a filter change... Oh yeah remember all the labour on removing the transmission and well fitting it back into the vehicle!_
