It's been weeks of being away due to exams I'm having at hand but I just couldn't miss this week's prompt cause it's something that has been a part of me since I embraced minimalism.

There are lots of minimalistic habits I'm used to but I'll focus on the ones I do constantly both consciously and unconsciously on a daily basis.

One of the things I'm used to doing daily is;

**keeping surfaces clean**: I can't go a day without wiping a surface and I'm so used to it that anyone who visits my little abode notices that I'm always checking out for those sneaky little clutters that got themselves stuck to my flat surface. Haha.

We all know that dirt gets stuck to surfaces easily and with that, one can contact bacteria or some sort of illness so to stay healthy, I tend to tidy as I go. Sometimes when I realize I've been cleaning too much, I stop and laugh at myself but to be honest, it has really helped reduce the number of times I see the doctor plus I hate leaving things on my flat surface, they make the place look scruffy to me, I rather give each thing a home but there must still be enough space for me to move freely.

Second thing I find myself doing is embracing those empty spaces in my home.

The joy of returning from school after lecturers stressing students out and getting to a home where there's enough space to breathe and move freely gives another type of inner peace and satisfaction. 

If a place were to be cluttered, I could get even annoyed for no reason that's why I tend to clean up after myself before leaving to anywhere because returning home to a mess isn't my thing and it's mentally draining so to avoid that, I keep things in place before walking out my small door and when I return after a long day, I look around and when I see my small space looking tidy, I feel satisfied and take a deep breath before sinking into bed that's if I feel really exhausted (school in Nigeria can drain the hell outta someone 🤧).

Personally, these are the basic minimalist habits I've put up ever since I got my own place. It has helped me realize that keeping a tidy home isn't hard if one makes it a habit to **tidy as they go.** Also,it has helped me live a clutter free life without feeling stressed out and this is the best version of me I could ever ask for.
