Todos los años iban a pasar las vacaciones de invierno juntos, en ese hermoso lugar, desde que adquirieron esa propiedad, cuando sus hijos aún eran niños. La felicidad que ambas sentían al llegar a la cabaña, era indescriptible. Empezaron a bajar el equipaje, las bolsas de alimentos y desempacaron todo. Terminada su faena, comenzaron a charlar mientras bebían un delicioso chocolate caliente, entonces Lucía dijo a su madre que iba a patinar en el lago congelado dónde iban siempre, estaba tan ansiosa que no pudo esperar a que llegarán su padre y hermano. Estela se quedó en la cabaña preparando la cena y de repente escucho un estruendo que iba aumentando cada vez más y empezó a temblar todo, ella quiso correr y no podía, después todo quedó oscuro y no supo más de si misma. Cuando Lucía escucho el estruendo y sintió el temblor, corrió a la cabaña y horrorizada vio que la misma no estaba, se encontraba bajo la nieve de una gran avalancha y de pensar que su madre estaba debajo de todo esa montaña de nieve se desmayó. Cuando recupero la conciencia, ya las personas de las casas vecinas, habían llamado a emergencias, y estaban la excavadoras y los grupos de rescate trabajando para tratar de conseguir la cabaña y a su madre. Ella sentía una angustia tan grande, que no paraba de llorar y pensaba, que posibilidades habían de que una persona soportará tanto tiempo bajo la nieve y se estremecía sabiendo que ninguna. En medio de toda esa pesadilla llegaron su padre y hermano, ella corrió abrazarlos y lloraba desconsoladamente contándoles todo. Lucia y su familia no supieron cuánto tiempo paso, cuando sacaron a su madre los rescatistas, estaba de color blanco azulado y no tenía signos vitales. Los paramédicos empezaron el proceso de resucitación, esos minutos si fueron eternos para ellos, hasta que tuvo pulso, le colocaron oxígeno y mantas térmicas para la hipotermia. Se la llevaron en la ambulancia y ellos se fueron detrás en el auto. Según los médicos, es un caso inexplicable.
