Why This Doesn't This Economy Give Good Vibes? A Rant

Noah Sheidlower writes on the input of Raul Krugman. Very hot weather bears down after summer's end. A metaphor for inflation, it looks like. At least, the people's perception of the economy is the problem, writes Noah. [The damage of the economy's "temporary burst of inflation", could stick around for years to come, says Paul Krugman.](https://www.businessinsider.com/economic-recovery-brought-psychological-and-political-damage-krugman-2023-9)

The game of "he said, he said" echoes the long tradition of humanity.

We like storytelling.

Krugman argues in his op-ed for the New York Times, inflation has had lasting psychological and political damage. Tell me about it. My pockets are dumbstruck there's still no money in them. [Wendy's sunsetted their best promotion, and asked for one dollar *more* for the *same* thing!](https://www.thestreet.com/restaurants/wendys-adding-mcdonalds-favorite-making-menu-deal-changes#:~:text=That%20left%20the%20only%20sandwich,%244%20off%20their%20menu%20board.)

# Many vibes, much session

The "vibecession", they call it. What a lovely vibe session we're having.

Meanwhile, other Internet headlines write the punchlines themselves.

["The 16 U.S. states where you need to earn more than $70,000 USD to be financially secure"](https://www.cnbc.com/2023/08/16/us-states-with-highest-living-wage.html)

A quick scroll reveals that this author is not financially secure in his current state. His still dumbstruck pockets agree.

> The median annual "living wage" - defined as the minimum amount of money to cover costs and save for retirement is $64,116 per household.

The author also reflects that at present, facts suggest that the cost of living *may* run cheaper in New York. He can no longer admonish his friends. Rather then play games or correct people, the best course of action appears as another article: Glenn Carreau and Kamal Ravikant's [How To Invest In Yourself](https://www.wikihow.com/Invest-in-Yourself). Economy's doing better then people think, while it costs a lot to live in many states? No one better to invest in.
