Hello everyone,

There has been a huge hype lately about the new set that will be released only for 2 weeks which is the Light's verdict set. There will be only 12 new cards in this set which makes each and every one of these cards regardless of their rarity, a rare card to have and own especially because after 14 days these cards will be impossible to obtain.

Now is it an exciting period of time every time before and expansion is released, but this one is different that the big expansions which makes it even more special and makes its card very important rarity wise. However, which cards are good to have that might help your gameplay as well?

Let's check them out together since this was the first chance for me to go in depth through each card too! So let us see each card individually and see which ones are more interesting than the other ones. Now this set contains 1 cards for each god, except for Light which is more than one, so I will be dividing them according to which god they belong.

# The Nature Card

## Shines on Us all

![ "shines on us.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmSp6gAh8Q7wwo9GxWyy5NHNE4EziZmm9s3jXAvmcocz3P/shines%20on%20us.png)

A very interesting card indeed! It can be a good addition for the Wild or Amazon decks, which pretty much all nature decks are based around either one of them currently. It can help get a good extra creature from the same tribe to buff. Now how effective it is is a bit RNG based though just like any delving cards, you need to get at least one good option to delve. In addition to that, you must get this card early on before you use any buffing spells so that you do not waste its effect and get your creatures back to their base form.

But overall a very interesting card indeed and worth trying out, if you get it in your hand early on and if luck was by your side, you'll get a very good start of the game which can lead you to a victory!

# The Deception Card

## Forge New Bonds

![ "forge new.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmWY8aagNJX8xV9rxGHrjieT254qjy7JFxsxs4L6ovYnLH/forge%20new.png)

A classic deception card if I must say so. Now I am not a deception player, nor am I expert in deception decks, however, I feel like for 5 mana, deception have a lot more better options that does similar effects of this card example: A toast to peace, Ransom. The reason I say this is because you'll be swapping the creature cost with a creature that costs no more than your current unlocked mana gems. So there are 2 scenarios here:

1- Using it on Low to Mid mana cost creature: If you do this as soon as you can use the card, or at 6 mana, it won't make a big difference it won't make a big difference because the creature will either be close to 6 mana, or far from 6 mana which makes it not worth using it on.

2- Using it on Late mana cost creature: In this case it also will not help that much because the creature will already be high cost and you'll both be at late game so he can simply play it again, even worse use his roar again if he has one.

Pulling the creature can be useful in many scenarios to finish off your opponent or just stalling the game, however the other effect I feel it is not that good.

# The Death card

## An Empire Reborn

![ "empire.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmRUbYFCnA3HPybZuHxWKFnctNUxUWCeihC6CPHsJ3EV3n/empire.png)

This card I would say is very situation; I can see it very helpful in case of creature that get strength or HP based on a specific factor ex: Number of void cards, Number of Order exc..

In this case this card is amazing to get rid of them and render them useless cards like Hevner, Hippacria, Archpriest of Parthene this card is amazing against them, other than that I can not see it being useful anywhere else.

# The War card

## An end to war

![ "an end to.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmQL1ytwQA4t4pNGm2KNEsZVbeXrFqjxs1TSjtybSjdTbp/an%20end%20to.png)

This card seems very volatile and work in many scenarios. It is a bit strange effect for war to say the least but it seems very good to use for 3 mana especially if you have 5 creatures in your void and able to use both effects. It is a better fit for Big Relic war decks or control war decks because it is a bit of a slow play for Aggro decks, however it seems like a really good card and can help you get rid of annoying creatures in many scenarios so definitely one worth trying! Keep in mind that Obliterate also gets through wards and protected! However the creature have to be damaged so he will probably not be protected if you decided to use the second effect on him.

# The Magic Card

## Pyrrhic Knowledge

![ "pyrrhic.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmPN7ggZGWxszK9AKBRkTUKfSnJUoyuSMPLNf8Hu63cWcF/pyrrhic.png)

This card is very strange, yet very intriguing at the same card. Now the Obliterate cards from the top of your deck is a bit annoying, I feel like this card can have a sneaky use in deck where everything is based on 1 spell that makes the whole play and turn the tides of the game around. My mind is bit blank about this one but it sure does sound intriguing especially knowing that many magic decks in the past were based on 1 card that was able to finish off the game so this one seems a good method to have a new one coming around!

# The Light Cards

## The Light seeks the truth

![ "the light seeks the truth.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmPSmTqCvjaWde5xLPMnwXyQcZiU91cjBah5DKwB6ge7uH/the%20light%20seeks%20the%20truth.png)

This card seems like a better version of Imperious Smite or Wrong Path that can get you rid of n annoying enemy creature forever without worrying about wards though. On top of that it seems like a new opening for a Chosen One deck. With Kadmos, you can give him some armor, and with this one you can give him either one or all 3 of those mentioned below! Imagine an Archpriest of Parthene with ward and armor! That would be almost impossible to kill! And probably making you one shot your opponent god with huge damage. I like this card even though I do not play light much!

## Forged in the Light and Lysander's Justice

![ "forged.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmVquEBkRvM2JBfAqPhrKDhtw1BfMmRKykC8g6JMhVK9Pa/forged.png)

Wow! Even more insane buffing potential for the Chosen One! Now it is starting to sound like we will be seeing a lot of Light decks with the Chosen One in them where if you draw it it will be like the Exodia of Gods unchained! We will probably be seeing more and more decks that will revolve a 6 mana card that can finish the game instantly with one hit, while being almost impossible to kill!

Overall, we can see that all the Light cards revolve around 1 similar concept and type of deck and gameplay which I am looking forward to see. Now how good will it be and how effective it is that remains to be seen when we start seeing those type of decks!

# The Neutral Cards

## Blade of Whiteplain

![ "blade.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmYb2AvsxQA2gSgAw6hmCb9wvt632KMzKZBd7qiQBAJPmY/blade.png)

For 5 mana, this card almost guarantees drawing 1 card, however, being 4/4 only at 5 mana can be easily removed and thus not providing that much pressure as a creature itself. It can be useful in very few scenarios where you need cards or you can protect it somehow, but other than that I can safe it is a bit weak in my opinion.

## The Dearly Departed

![ "dearly.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmbd4n2abZ5CEvjyLz9XvRzdiu7gJK74tXJrA1Bh4UrVft/dearly.png)

This card is very unique and very strange at the same time. From the first look at it I can see shining in 2 scenarios only:

- The first scenario is where your opponent deck is based on 1 game winning card and you can use this one to delay him playing for at least 1 turn, because he will have to spend mana on your creature to kill it. Which can be game changing sometimes.

- The second scenario is where your opponent relies heavily or have a huge buffing potential of creatures in his hand with different spells example: Out of its misery. Or any other creature than might get powerful with a certain effect while in your opponent hand.

Those are the 2 scenarios that I see this card working in, other than that I would say it is not that good for a 3 mana drop!

## Martyr of Whiteplain

![ "martyr.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmaqQi2dUPoX3QSjVfcKgD1vWAJNHDuXob8fphLKh47gBF/martyr.png)

I love this card because it can allow you to use a very annoying early game creature twice especially if you have it early on, or make you use a strong creature effect two times by summoning him twice and that is insanely good! I hope I understood the concept of this card well and not wrong though!

## The Divine Coronet

![ "the divine.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmQnDpWWBfjsUkrCyzW4oAsjeAjrVKMDgyxy9o4wH5TCdi/the%20divine.png)

Now for the legendaries! Now this card is interesting indeed but it has a small problem I would say. Players can start building decks that revolves around it, however if in any way the card was dealt with then it is almost like an automatic loss and the deck falls out. Now I do not know if there will be decks where this card is a big plus for them and not the win condition itself, but it is indeed very interesting to see it played when it comes out!

## Thaeriel, the Fallen

![ "thaeriel.png"](https://images.hive.blog/DQmUMKUd51KDy4B336xMaQi5bku5CMrgMMmy8Uck15wwBCB/thaeriel.png)

First of all to clarify what a Thaeric cultist is: Thaeric cultist are various 2/2 2 mana cards, that holds difference buffing effects such as godblitz, twin strike, buffs and many other effects. Now this creature having 9 health is really and make it tougher to kill or force the enemy to use a bunch of cards to kill it, now with 3 extra cultists, if it survived it can be detrimental for you opponent and might win you the game! So I am definitely looking forward to seeing it in play!

# Final Words

Now as we all saw, the cards that are being released from this expansion are really somewhat unique and it is very difficult if not impossible to find cards that have similar effects to them, each with various uses regardless of it it is a good or bad card.

Now what makes them more interesting is the fact that they will be very rare to get especially after the set closes which is only 2 weeks and it is a good experience to snatch as much as possible from them because they will probably have a high price one the set closes! So I would advice trying and buying as much packs as possible and doing your best in the upcoming 2 weekend events to get as much packs as possible!

Now since the next weekend event is so important, I decided to have a strategy going into it to get as much wins as possible which I will be talking about in my next post so stay tuned!

Now the big question here for me remains: Will there be sets specified for each god in the future just like we're seeing now with Light? Let's wait and see what the future brings with this amazing game!
