Well, I'll try to explain it to you in few words, without technical terms or nerd speech.
So let's skip the technical aspect of the moment and let's speak about the effects of it on our beloved activity on Steemit.

**1**  Hard fork equals an update, fix, change.

**2** Mainly this hard fork will change the reward system. The reward curve will be stake proportional. It means that from an exponential system of rewards we are switching to a linear one. Therefore our vote will worth 4 times than the one as it stands now. Instead, ​the curation upvote will not be so much affected by the hard fork.
At the present, ​the vote of someone who has 1000 steem power worths the 10% than who has 1,000,000 steem power at moment, this (aS the codename "Equality" suggests) will change giving more power to the minnows and to the dolphins. I remember you that:
