THE FUTURE ENDED
The future ended
When we queued behind our past
Hiding our faces in shame
Walking into the next night empty
When we sighed with regret
And adorned ourselves with self pity
The future ended
For those who have refused 
To let go of a gruesome past
Those who are tenants of today
But landlords of yesterday
Those who could not defeat their past
Surrendering themselves to its tortures
The future ended
When we murdered our tomorrow
And sacrificed her 
At the altar of regret and disappointment
When we bid her farewell
And opened the door of her departure 
When her time was not yet come
The future ended
When we looked at tomorrow
And all we could see was darkness
While we look at our black past
And saw a light of deceit
The future ended
When we doubted it
And lost faith in it
When we accepted the dead promises
And the long expired visions of the past
The future ended
When we aborted our dreams in fear
It's tenure sadly ended
Because we could not keep her alive
Our tomorrow died
And we were buried with it.
