Doc Rivers removed as GM of L.A. Clippers. Claims he didn't even know he was the GM. Jim Shorts Reports
According to Mr. League Sources, earlier today, Doc Rivers was relieved of his general manager duties of the L.A. Clippers.

This came as an especially huge surprise to Rivers as he claims that he was unaware that he was supposed to be performing the duties of the general manager.

When Rivers was *acquired* from the Boston Celtics in exchange for a 1st round pick on June 25, 2013 he was also named senior vice president of basketball operations. Apparently no one told Rivers that this title meant he needed to act as the team's general manager.

Shortly after naming Rivers vice president, the Clippers acquired J.J. Redick from the Milwaukee Bucks. No one is sure if that trade was initiated by Rivers or team owner Donald Sterling's "right hand person" (pictured below).

Yes this was a real thing 3 years ago. You did not dream it.
Since the transaction involving Redick, the Clippers have done absolutely nothing to improve their team. Following Friday's announcement, we now understand why. Doc Rivers had no idea he was supposed to be attempting to make trades.

During the four years following that move, Rivers at least did enough to assemble a team comprised of the legally required number of players.

Bravo!!!!

However, he did this mainly through overpaying insignificant or over-the-hill free agents. Oh and his son. Yes he gave his bench warming son a three year $36 million dollar contract last summer.

He also took part in what could be called the illegal imprisonment of center Deandre Jordan who had attempted to sign a deal to join the Dallas Mavericks in the summer of 2015*.

Yes this was also a thing. Several members of the Clippers refused to leave Deandre Jordan alone so he could not sign with Dallas.
Lawrence Frank will now get to take over the GM duties of this pile of stinking hot garbage known as the Los Angeles Clippers roster.

Good luck Mr. Frank. You are going to need it.

Frank's first act as GM should be building a time machine so they can go back and trade Chris Paul for Kyrie Irving.

*I have no legal expertise. I doubt this was a crime. But it was ridiculous!
