Here's my question to you; Have you ever paused to deliberate on why some products appeal to you more than others when shopping? Some products get faster sales than others in the same category and trust me guys it ain't just about quality of product or attractive packaging. There's an actual strategy being used by sales people to cause you to buy their products. There’s an actual trick employed by corporations, which makes us spend our money in their products unknowingly. Of course it's not exactly a bad thing but I figured it would be nice to let > So allow me to share it with you friends. Now just imagine this typical scenario; you're strolling along on a sandy beach, sunbathing and all of a sudden you come across an ice cream seller. You start to think “Hmm, I’ll just treat myself to one scoop of my favorite flavor.” you walk straight to the vendor to purchase but you take note of something about the prices. Let's say a single scoop of the ice cream is at $1.04 while two scoops cost $1.06 and three scoops are available for $6.50. you immediately realize, Why would anyone pay $6.50 for three scoops whereas they could get two scoops for only $1.06 more? It sounds like you're about to get a very easy deal but that is how decoy effect works with these sales. The interesting truth is, the smart ice cream seller has no realistic expectation that anyone will go for the three-scoop alternative. It's not like they're dumb or anything but actually, it’s just a device to make the two-scoop alternative appear as the best deal. If faced with a choice between 4 dollars and 6.50 dollars, many people would probably opt for the one that is cheaper. Just add $1:06, and suddenly even the $6:50 option does not look that bad after all. Sneaky right guys? [Source](https://pixabay.com/photos/woman-music-fit-fitness-technology-1867757/) Now let me tell you about the Apple company which is the main example I want to use to explain the strategy; if you are into technology, then you have probably heard of them before, let's be honest everyone has probably heard of Apple or use it. The Apple Company also knows how to use decoy effect to squeeze more money from us in buying their products. To illustrate this take the iPhone14 for example which costs $1,019 if you’re going for the ordinary version- quite an expensive tag right? However iPhone14 Plus isnat $1,169, iPhone14 Pro priced at $1,329 and finally iPhone Pro Max which goes for $1,479. When you look at this, it is easy to think that “I should not be bothered about those many features. I will simply settle for the normal iPhone 14.” Then, you realize the price difference between the normal one and iPhone 14 Plus. So, it’s only $150 more and you get all of these extra features. Suddenly, the regular iPhone 14 does not seem like such a good deal. Shopping is an activity in which we can easily believe we have control over our choices; however, companies such as Apple are past masters at steering us towards certain options without us being aware of it. But even if it seems benign, all those little additional costs would really pile up if they were to continue indefinitely. So guys, if you ever feel the urge to spoil yourself with a new gadget or an extra dollop of ice cream, just pause and reflect on why you made that choice. Do you feel that you are receiving the best bargain or merely falling for the decoy effect? It is really worth pondering over this, your money bag will live to appreciate this knowledge. Guys I'm pretty sure you may have already realized this strategy. I'm happy you took the time to read to the end and can't wait to hear your feedback on this.
