Praise the Lord Church! I gave my life to Christ 2 years ago but I was heavily persecuted. My family, being Muslim withdrew all opportunities from me. I stopped going to church, stopped reading the bible. So, I backslid. I fell way from Grace. I felt bad all that time but I didn't want to cause more problems for myself. Then, I tuned into TBN one holiday 2 weeks ago and I got restored. Got saved again. Praise God!

Every body claps and the keyboardist throws in a jazz chord at the end. But I'm even more confused by the testimony.

> First, we don't give our "lives" to God at Salvation. Rather,He gives His life to us. Before we got saved, we biblically had no life!

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

# But then,my bigger worry is how he got saved after he backslid.

Hebrews 6: 6 says that the only way a backslider is renewed is to crucify Jesus afresh

# Hebrews 6:

6 If they shall fall away , to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

I didn't hear that Jesus came back to die for this parishioner. How did he get restored?

The word "backsliding" is an old testament term in Hebrew as a noun /meshûbâh/. Backslider in Hebrew is a verb /Sûg/. Both mean /parapipto/ in the Greek which means to "fall away". It actually comes from the root word APOSTASY.

The remedy for apostasy, apostates or backsliders is an open re-crucifixion of Jesus for the apostate(noun). Prayers and penitence don't restore backsliders. But that's what happened with this testifier and yet we clapped and danced and got happy.

Truth is, this believer didn't backslide. He didn't fall away from Jesus. He couldn't.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

The family members didn't make him backslide. They couldn't. Jesus said NO MAN can pluck them from His Hands.

Yes,he was a Christian who refused to give expression to the life inside of him. Fear had him bound. He didn't have the fellowship of brethren, with saints. So, he got discouraged along the way. But He was blood washed all the while--saved and sanctified!

He felt bad all the while he was in this state. His guilt was a tell-tale sign he was outwardly living contrary to the nature of Christ inwardly. It is a hard thing for saints to be content without expression. No, no. This testifier wasn't. He needed the word. And it came via Television.

He didn't get re-saved, restored or renewed back to Christ.

That's an error since Jesus didn't come to the 21st century to die again.

He simply got reminded of the life inside of him. Like a caged lion suddenly placed in the wild,he jumps to his feet and lives like He is supposed to.

The next time I hear you say a christian backslid and got saved again by prayer and fasting, I'll have to check the news to see if Jesus came back in a manger to die for that person. Knowing this is scripturally impossible, I'll call you ignorant for believing that crap.

If we would stick with scriptures and believe it simply and yet deeply, we wouldn't need the trouble of painting emotional stories for testimonies. Our services will be truer and people would leave better than they came.
