The social sounds, grunts, farts and burps from this group of males lying on the beach in the South Shetland Islands is amusing and a tad disturbing. I am glad that when men get together we don’t smell or behave too much like Elephant seals do.. *Too much….* 

This fella wasn’t too happy in his current position in the *wallow ~ a wallow is a group of elephant seals that pile up on one another whilst they molt in order to maintain body heat*. My guess is that a 3ish tonne seal was lying on a more sensitive body part.  A foot maybe..??
