As the summer months slowly come to an end on the Antarctic Peninsula and the amount of snow and ice on the shore is at its lowest it can be the most pleasant for animals that are constantly inhabiting those areas. *** It can be slippery to walk and the smell isn’t the greatest, as well as, the sight is well red with penguin poo. Due to their high krill diet in the summer months - their poo takes on a reddish colour and covers every rock and surface where their breeding colonies are situated. This means for a messy upbringing and not so white and black penguins - as there is typically a bit of a reddish mark somewhere on their usually white bellies. ***
**Some baby penguins with their parents waiting to fledge and get their adult plumage to being their life in the ocean**
***
!steemitworldmap -64.682485 lat -62.623542 long gentoo penguin breeding colony d3scr *** Thanks for reading and all the support, Steemit!! **Dont forget to Upvote & Resteem!!!** All stories & photographs are of my own work unless noted under the picture in question.
