crowded on a piece of ice with no way to get into the water to to continue walking on any pieces of ice close by.  This is a usual sight when it comes to watching an animal that has very limited mobility talents on land, which is a weird thing to say when you consider it is actually a bird. However, their ability to move in the water is beyond impressive and it is still comedic to observe them on land.

It usually takes a good few minutes for them to work out where to now and when there is a group like this one then it takes even longer.  As each of them inspect the edge and then they will bump into each other and reshuffle amongst each other and check another ledge and this continues on for quite some time.  This means it is nothing but a great opportunity to sit down, watch and do your best to capture some moments that can capture the live comedic action you are lucky enough to be observing.
