Delphine 360° view
Pictures don't always do a sculpture justice and it's often interesting to see it from different angles. Instead of taking numerous photos, I sometimes made a little video with my phone.

However, filming with one hand while turning the sculpture around with the other proved to be rather difficult and resulted in crappy out of focus video.

So, two weeks ago, we made a little turn-table of sorts from an old washing dryer motor, some springs and a Mecano wheel, which pushes against an MDF disc, making it turn around. I calculated the size of the disc so that a full 360° turn would be exact 15 seconds. (I was under the impression Instagram only allowed 15 second video, but apparently that has changed?)

Anyway, 15 seconds seemed about right, but now it looks like it may be a little bit too fast if you really want to see the details of the sculpture. On YouTube I can slow it down to 75%, which I think is better. 50% was too slow.

Next step will be to make a more neutral background and do the actual filming with my camera on a tripod instead of a handheld cell phone. Some video editing may also be needed to create a smooth infinite loop.

I also need to remember to turn of the radio while filming. :)

Hope you enjoy. I'll definately be doing more of these videos in de future.
