You know... people say women and cars don’t mix, and a lot of men aren’t exactly thrilled when a woman drives their precious vehicle. Especially their own car. 😊 

But in my marriage? Oh, it’s the complete opposite! I take care of the car, and my husband? He’s all about the bikes. Those are his babies. Logical, apparently. 😊

So, a few days ago, I called my dad and asked if he could set up an appointment with his mechanic friend to check my car. You know, just to make sure everything’s okay before the yearly car inspection. Or whatever you call that thing where you live. The one where they decide if your car is still worthy of the roads. 

We set it up for Friday. Perfect! I was free, so I could go. BUT. On Thursday, while driving, I suddenly heard a weird noise coming from the front left wheel. Did I panic? Nope. I was like, *"Eh, probably just some plastic flapping around from hitting potholes."* (Don’t judge me, I’m a woman. Still. 😉)

So, I got to my parents' place, took the car to the mechanic, and said, *"Hey, can you just check this real quick?"* 

He was like, *"Yeah, no problem, routine check, you’ll have your car back by Saturday morning."* 

Perfect! No stress. I’ll just hang out with my parents and brother in the meantime. 

But then—plot twist! Around 3 PM, the mechanic called my dad. 

Mechanic: *"Sir, we need to do a lot of work on this car. The belt needs replacing."* 

Now, don’t ask me what belt. I have no idea. Something that spins at the front—maybe the timing belt? No clue. Don’t ask. 😂 

Saturday morning, I asked my dad, *"When will the car be ready? I need to go back. My husband is all alone, and without a car... I don’t want him to starve!"* 😉

Then at 9 AM, the mechanic called again. 

Mechanic: *"Sir... does your daughter even know what kind of death trap she’s been driving?! She could have died on the road!!"* 

Dad: *"What’s wrong?"* 

Mechanic: *"She said there was a ‘funny sound’ from the left wheel... Well, the front springs are completely destroyed!"* 

(That’s the right word, right? I’m not a pro. 😉) 

Mechanic: *"One big bump, and this could’ve ended really badly! Doesn't she have a husband who checks these things?!"* 

And my dad? He just laughed. 

Dad: *"Oh, believe me... she’s way more into that car than he is!"* 

So, the mechanic told me I had to wait three more hours while they fixed everything. Fine, I’ll wait. 

**BUT THEN.** 

One hour later, another call. 

Mechanic: *"Oh boy, this car won’t be ready until Wednesday. It’s leaking oil, which broke the sensor, and now it won’t start at all."* 

Me: *"Excuse me, WHAT?! It was supposed to be a simple check! Are you telling me my car was basically falling apart?! A year ago, we had it at the official service center, and they said everything was fine for at least two years!"* 

Whatever. Just fix it. I don’t care how much it costs. I just want to be safe. 

But now, new problem: How do I get back home?! I have to work on Monday! 

And then, like a true hero, my dad said: *"Don’t worry, I’ll lend you my car."* 

Me: *"WHAT?! YOU?! Giving ME your car?! Are you feeling okay?! 15 years ago, you would’ve laughed in my face if I even asked!"* 😂 

Then my brother jumped in: *"Noo, take my car instead!"*

And my mom? She just laughed. *"Ha! I’m not giving you MY car. You’ve borrowed mine enough. Let the boys give you a car this time!"* 😂 

So there I was, standing there, choosing between two cars. I was like, *"Wait... am I dying? And no one told me? Because WHAT is happening here?!"* 😂 

In the end, I picked my brother’s car. I love it, so I promised to be super careful and not drive too fast. *(Maybe. 😉)* 

Then, I called my husband. 

Me: *"Sweetheart... so, um, our car isn’t ready until Wednesday. You said our car is fine. You are unbelievable. I am so glad I’m the one in charge of the car."* 

Him: *"Oh wow, so many problems? I thought everything was okay."* 

Me: *"I prefer to stay silent and feel happy that I am in control of the car.”* 😂

So, I thanked my whole family, took my brother’s car, and drove home.

And now? I’m just waiting. But honestly, no rush. Because right now, I have an awesome car to drive. 💪😂
