I'm poised for the day. Last year, you drew up a detailed resolution of what you were going to do to make you super successful this year. If i may ask, how did it go? Do you feel successful as the year is ending and have you been able to achieve all your resolves? Indeed, discipline is a virtue hard to come by and many of us are still fighting our way to it. 



As i traveled with my mum to my hometown for the Christmas, i chanced to read Joyce Meyer book; Never Give Up. I read the first chapter and saw how awful many of us  draw our new year resolutions. They are mostly things we think are bad that we want to abandon. It good we realize the negative aspects of our lives and better it. If you really want to achieve the success you want for next year, Firstly read:
 Matthew 6:33. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

There is something called peace that only God can give it to you. You need that peace before you can achieve true greatness in life. As you seek his face, the holy spirit opens doors for you to make.

<center>How To Make a New Year Resolution</center>
New year resolution is often just a  list of goals you set for yourself to achieve by the end of the coming year. Many of us run overboard and set goals which are beyond our reach hoping for miracles to occur for it to happen. Miracles do occur and we thank God for them yet we need to set goals that are **SMART**

Our goals need to be as **S**pecific as possible. A specific goal is straight forward and the target of the goal is clearly stated. For example. I want to earn $1m  by 1st December 2019. This goal is specific and every one knows it money that i want to earn not any other thing and the exact amount is know. With you mind on a target price, it makes your goal Measurable

Our goals also need to be **M**easurable. Many at times we set goals and don't even realize when we meet our mark. Goals that are difficult to measure are unlikely to be achieved cause you wont even realize if you achieve it or not. 

Thirdly, your goal must be  **A**greed upon, **A**ttainable, **A**chievable, **A**cceptable, and **A**ction-oriented. Drawing a goal which is not attainable is like writing an exam without preparation. It takes only a miracle to pass. You dont want that for you new year resolution. You want to set targets which are achievable. Achievable goals sets your feet on a standard to achieve more the following year. So lets set targets that are achievable. 

Again, your goals must be **R**ealistic. Imagine living in Ghana and setting a goal of visiting the sun the following year with no prior exposure to astronomy or any thing relating to that field. Its so unrealistic and might just become a dream which wont go into fruition. Lets sets goals that are realistic. Realistic goals are easily achievable. 

Last but not the least, your goals must be **T**ime bound. With new year resolution, the time limit for our goal is the end of the year but we need to make conscious effort to break our goals into objectives which will propel us to achieve  it by the end of the year.


Lets all set our resolutions straight and i pray the good lord will give us all the strength to follow through. Stay blessed this festive season.
