In the post I discussed my reasons for being a bit wary towards the whole polycub project in the sense, that I was disappointed with how CUB unfolded last year. We saw a lot of **hype** around it and after the initial euphoria CUB dropped to 20 cents from an ATH of ~$11! I think most of the community lost a lot of money on CUB and I don't think many will leave this project with a profit. Polycub saw a lot of hype as well and my criticism is that there are no/little posts about the risks involving such a project. **But Polycub is different**. So much is already clear. The leofinance team advertise it as a DEFI 2.0 yield farming platform because of the different mechanics introduced here. I don't want to gget inti the details here as there are many good posts/videos about it. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56gi-syp01k&t=2563s Essentially, I have only used the **XPolycub staking mechanism.** I haven't used any of the pools to earn polycub, **instead my strategy was to buy polycub directly as well as getting skin into the airdrop**. After now ~2 weeks after the launch I think this strategy is holding up pretty well. This is largely due to the fact that Polycub is ttaking a huge dump. From an ATH of $4 it is now trading barely over 60 cents. Two weeks ago I anticipated a further drop and even thought that: >I still think that Polycub could go to ~40 cents (based on what I saw for cub), but buying CUB is a no brainer right now. In other words, we don't know where the bottom for Polycub is. For CUB there seems to be at least a good chance that 20 cents is the bottom after it has crashed over 98%. **What helps is to average it out**. I never bought much Polycub in one buy. Instead, every other day I invested some money into it and bought in at around 80 cents to now about 60 cents. This means I have almost taken no losses until now. **Staking Polycub** is of course a great idea as one gets great APR from it. To me it first wasn't clear how this worked actually. It is not the XPolycub that is increasing, but the PC/xPC ratio. In other words if the ratio is now at 16 with an APR of 365% we would get a 32 ratio in one year. An increased rartio then means tht you get more Polycub from the staked xPolycub, independent from the price of Polycub. Currently it is at around 800% (although today the dashboard changed a bit and we also have a really high APY; anybody know what this is referring to?)  Although the price dropped from 80 cents when I first bought some it is the **xPolyCUB value** is still at around $11 as the ratio has increased. That means I basically did not take any losses so far which is *already a great improvement over CUB*. All in all, I am optimistic that Polycub won't go too much lower as the mechanics suggest an increasing demand for Polycub. As it is deflationary, prices should therefore rise. And when they do the current high APR is going to greatly increase the value of the original investment. --- *As a general reminder: Please keep in mind that none of this is official investment advice!
