Hello Steemit,

I'm going to try something a little different today and share the background story on my furry little friend named Morgan.

Morgan is 10 years old and is a female cat. Her previous owner died about 4 months ago, leaving Morgan all alone. His daughter was allergic to Morgan, so obviously couldn't keep Morgan long term. I heard Morgan was looking for a good home and I was interested right away.

In this world, many older cats get over looked for younger cats or kittens. I felt the immediate need to help this older cat. Plus, I'm a musician with lots of wires. Kittens are cute but they are destructive too, the idea of getting a cat who was already calm/mature really appealed to my current situation.

His Daughter told me that her farther found Morgan alone in the woods, late December on a cold New England night. She was starving, cold, almost dead and crying for help. She was lucky to be found, I can't imagine the number of stray cats that don't survive the New England winter.

The first few weeks were not easy at all. First day home Morgan tried to escape into the walls and almost succeeded. I literally grabbed her by the last leg I could see and yanked her out of the wall. She was obviously not happy, scratching and hissing. Always a great way to start a relationship.

Time passed and Morgan really started to open up. Morgan became social, playful and a central part of my household. Wasn't long till I had a little shadow following my every footstep around the house, watching me in the studio, wondering when I'll be done to play her favorite games.

I'll spend hours in the studio working on music, projects or just playing around and having fun. Morgan has become the studio mascot, watching with keen eye, always the first to hear my new music and always interested in what I'm doing.

The healing aspect of animals is profound and can't be underestimated.

I hope to have many amazing years with Morgan and I hope to give her the best home possible for the rest of her existence on this planet. Morgan has already gave me so many memories.

She is lucky to be alive, I'm lucky to own her.
