Microsoft announced Windows 10 May 2019 Update at the beginning of April, promising a more thorough testing process than in the past. In fact, the 1903 version is passed by the Insider program's Release Preview channel, which was completely skipped with the October 2018 update and stayed there for about a month and a half. The distribution to the public began on May 21st, but the roll-out will be slower than usual with a kind of preference for more modern systems and we know there will be no problems with it.

In addition, the update only applies to users described as "seekers." In the past, major updates were offered to everyone by simply clicking on the "Check for updates" button, while now the system will inform the user of the availability of a new feature update, explicitly asking if you would like to install it. Thus the procedure for installing the cumulative updates and feature updates is completely separate, and the first one can be started without worrying about starting the much longer (and sometimes problematic) installation of an update with feature instead.

The new Light Theme, a completely redesigned clear theme, Windows Sandbox on the most advanced SKUs for safe execution of suspicious applications in a controlled and closed environment, and the ability to uninstall many more system applications than before, are among the most important innovations of the update (which we will discuss in more detail). Windows 10 May 2019 Update (1903) can be installed with Windows Update, Windows 10 Media Creation Tool and Windows 10 Update Assistant as well. We'll explain how to do this below.

Install Windows 10 May 2019 Update from Windows Update Installing May 2019 Update from Windows Update is obviously the best thing as we expect Microsoft's timing and proceed with complete security (installation can only be done if the company has verified the suitability of the installed hardware in some way). It is also among the "manual" ones the simplest and fastest procedure. To do this, simply access the operating system settings from a Windows 10 updated with the latest updates, type Start Menu Settings and press Enter. Select Update and Security from the new window and then click Check for updates.

Once the search is complete and the update is found, the download will not start as before, but the user will have to set the start of the procedure. There is a new button to do this, which can not be confused with those related to cumulative updates: to start downloading the 1903 version, click Download and install now under Windows 10's Feature Update item. You will be asked to restart after downloading. Save all work in progress and wait for the completion of the procedures.

The installation process works the same as regular Windows 10 updates, but it's going to be much longer.
