Oftentimes, we see a lot believers who are always afraid of death. As believers in Christ Jesus, through the death of Jesus on the cross and His eventual resurrection, we have been given power over the spirit of death. We ought to know this because Christ dethroned death and then replaced it with eternal life. 

>For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

If you are a true believer in Christ Jesus, you have eternal life as it is written in the book of John 3 verse 16. And this eternal life is in-destructive and unfailing. It is with eternal life that we have rulership over the spirit of death. If we only we learn to believe and have the mind of Christ, we will then have the results Christ had while in the human form. Because you have Jesus, you have the same life that was in Him.

If you have eternal life, you shall never perish and having eternal life is the end of the rulership of death in your life. Also, believing on the name of Jesus keeps you far from death. Paul speaking in the book of Philippians 1:23-25 says


>23:For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
24: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
25: And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

Paul knew that he had been given eternal life and he understood the workings of the life in Him. So, he said it was his decision to live longer for the furtherance of the gospel and the faith of the church. Yes, going to be with Christ is way better but spreading the gospel is very needful so Paul chosed to live longer. The decision was his to make; he was not controlled by the laws of death. 

We need to have this mindset that we are in charge of our lives. Death cannot take your life anytime it wants or feels like. Believers can control how and when to die if they fully understand the message of eternal life. Our exit on Earth should be through pains and various sicknesses. Always remember that we have power over death through Jesus Christ
