I remember in 11th grade, I was the shortest kid in my class. Not only was I short, but I was skinny. Not only was I short & skinny, but my fashion was off too. I had one thing that I had going for me though. 'What was that?' Basketball. 'What made you get into basketball?' Good question.... During the years of high school, a lot of my close friends were towering over me. And I remember I was also the shortest in my house as well. Well, one day, I remember my dad & grandpa gave me advice. It was identical advice. They told me if I wanted to get taller, then I needed to play basketball. 'Look how tall the players in the NBA are. You know why they got like that? It's because they play basketball.' they said. Oh yea? My entire life, I shot around, but it was nothing too serious. Are you telling me I can get taller if I play basketball?? I was sold. The next few months, I invested into basketball. Would play every single day after school. On the weekends, I would play for hours. Many of my friends asked me why I was playing so much. I told them it was my only shot to getting tall. They looked at me like I was crazy. But I looked at them like they had no clue. Week after week, I played. Took it so seriously that I bought ankle weights to make it tougher on me. My game improved. And slowly something else had improved too..... My house had a fridge that I was always shorter than. Well, once I began playing a lot of basketball, I noticed I was starting to close the gap. I don't know if the fridge was getting shorter or I was getting taller! As the summer started to wrap up, I was reborn. I was no longer this 5'3 guy. But rather, now I was 6'0. By the time I had returned to school, my friends couldn't believe it. I had overtaken all of them out of nowhere! The crazy look that they had earlier turned into intrigue. What happened? Looking back, it's evident that basketball wasn't the reason I got taller. It was just puberty, right? Otherwise anyone playing basketball would be tall. I don't know fam... A part of me still thinks there was something metaphysical involved. In my mind, I had this BELIEF that I was going to get taller. I had no clue my dad & grandpa were telling me something to motivate me. I thought it was a fact. There was no doubt in my mind that it was going to happen. And when I had that belief mixed with harmonious actions, it was as though I had set off a different force. The moral of the story is not about the height. But rather, the intense belief is what you should be shooting for. View your wildest dreams as a fact. The belief is what allows you to push on even when people look at you all crazy. I believe that my intense thought patterns vibrated into my body & led to the transition in height. But who knows. Maybe i'm talking crazy right now. Truth be told. You need some crazy in you. I couldn't speak in front of 1 person without fidgeting and getting nervous when I was a youngster. But I knew one day I would be speaking in front of 500 people with ease. Crazy? Absolutely. But did it manifest? Absolutely. Ask yourself this question. How were you crazy in the past? What was ONE thing you have done that would have made your past self be like 'get outta here!' I'm sure if you take some time to answer this question, you will blow yourself away. Now ask yourself, why not repeat it? Have bold goals that makes others look at you like you're crazy. Have your subconscious mind tell your conscious mind 'hey slow down there bucko!' Then proceed anyways. Look around you. Heck, look at the device you are reading this from. Pretty sure our ancestors would view us as crazy for thinking we can have digital devices that could transmit energy. Until we did it. The human race has been responsible for marvelous innovation. All it takes is for your thoughts & behavior to alighn. And you will one day join the Mount Rushmore of human history.
