 Hey hey! I’m Ma. Theresa Medel Gumop-as, but you can simply call me Tootsie. I am from the vibrant city of Taguig in the Philippines. I’ve been teaching ESL for over 20 years now, but here’s a little secret: my first love — writing — still has my heart! 💖In fact, I used to write novels and poems back in high school. Unfortunately, none got to be published. My bad, I didn’t pursue it.   I’ve been married for sixteen years, and we have a little chaotic tot, our four-year-old daughter, who keeps life extra exciting. She turns everything upside down at home, but we cannot be happier to have been blessed by such a wonderful gift from above. She’s our answered prayer, a dream come true. 💖  We also have a 7-year-old doggie named Thunder. He is very loyal, sweet and likes to bark with people he does not know. He’s a good guard and loves to be belly-rubbed. He wags his tail when he welcomes us every time we arrive home. He’s a ball of sunshine.  By day, I’m a Senior Content Specialist at EnglishCentral, and by night (and sometimes day), I teach ESL and do event hosting on the side. Teaching has always been my passion since it feels so good to be able to share my knowledge and skills with others and be part of their journey in learning the language. It gives me the feeling of contentment and pleasure. Hosting, on the other hand, is fun because you not only get to witness their celebratory moments, you get to party, too. (Cool, isn’t it?)   When I’m not working, you’ll find me binge-watching fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, adventure, and action movies — basically anything that sparks my imagination. I am telling you, I can be a couch-potato for a day! (laughing emojis) And if I’m not glued to the screen, I’m probably ziplining, wall climbing, or road-tripping my way to a mini-adventure. It’s my way to recharge and take care of my mental health. After all, balance is important!   So you see, I am a simple but fun-loving individual who is super excited to kick off my writing journey here and can’t wait to sprinkle a little magic into this community.
