The Power of a New Dawn: How to Embrace the Start of a New Day
>
Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up. Anne Lamott

We are all given a fresh start every day. It's up to us whether we let it pass by. When you wake up, you have the chance to embrace change and improve your life. In this blog post, I will share the power of dawn and how we can start our day with a better perspective.

# Don't let the past define your future

We all make dumb decisions. Probably yesterday you had one. We learn from it and as cliche, as it sounds, experience is the best teacher.

Their past hinders some people in their growth. I remember having such regrets back then, making me lazy and not looking forward to the days to come.

*Hanggang dito nalang ako kasi ito lang ang natapos ko*

This haunts me several times whenever I have doubts and fall into the self-pity pit.

You may have such, but look at you right now! You are in a better position than years ago. You are wiser compared to before, as you learned new stuff every day.

We cannot change the past anymore as it already happened, but we can always work for our future.

Focus on small steps in your present and watch how it ripples and creates an impact on your future.

# Give yourself the gift of having a fresh start

When writing manually, I love a clean sheet of paper. It gives me a vibe that I have a ton of things to write and space for add-on stuff that would come to my mind.

This also made me more conscious and think it is precious. I write drafts on scratch paper, an old receipt, or loose paper from an old notebook. More often than not, they got lost in the huge haystack of papers in our house.

Now, if we treat the paper just like a new morning, we will attempt to start our day with a positive mindset. A bad morning, will equate to a whole bad day, right?

Instead of dwelling on what went wrong yesterday or worrying about what might go wrong tomorrow, focus on all that is good in your life right now. What are your plans right now? Be in the *NOW* and not yesterday.

This is just my musings for today. As I saw the beautiful dawn while walking, I asked myself am I embracing new things properly? Sure, sometimes I haven't, but there are things to be grateful for.

*Live today and work for the future. Take the teachings from your past and start all over.
