Dawn of Sunday, around four in the morning power was cutting in an out in our place. I was enjoying the 7th episode of the New Gate in Youtube ( to which I have read already in Manga) until on the fourth instance of the power being turned off it never went back again.

I waited for a couple of minutes to see if we will still be getting the electricity back, but unfortunately it did not. I slept and just woke up with the banging sounds from the roof. Mango fruits are rolling, twigs from the trees planted in our home are falling. A whistling sound in the air can be heard.

**We are in the eye of the storm.**

Strong winds are caressing the trees as if they have longed for each other since the start of times. The rain that we had kept on waiting finally came, and she brought a lot of reinforcements, enough for you to say stop it already.

Flood started to show-up, quenching the thirst of the dry and barren lands in the area. As someone who grew up in the area wherein every year we experience flooding, this is a normal occurrence. The flood follows me, perhaps, and he followed me very well. Excitement kicks in as I bathe in the rainfall, it was cold but not enough to make you shiver. But the excitement started to fade, as flood water starts to rise, implying that they want to enter our little abode.

I jokingly said to myself, the wife of the man started to panic as multiple things are going in place. A leakage in the roof, a flood that isn't welcome in our home and a toddler walking back and forth slipping on her feet as the tiles were soaking wet.

We made a makeshift barrier in our doors to avoid the water from coming in. The old yoga mat that was stocked forever finally served its purpose and ended his career in a not so good role.

I on the other hand, used our dipper and a pail to scoop the water that is trying to enter our premises.

When it will end? I ask as I had a hard time in scooping the water from the terrace of our home. If I stop for a few minutes, this unwanted guest will invade our home, and we wouldn't be able to completely stop them for good. 

I scoop and throw the water till there's no tomorrow. Perhaps this is nature's way of helping me to be fit? I lose the appetite to eat after, but when food is prepared, I ate like an orc that was starved for food.

The rain and wind stopped for a while. I instructed April to prepare some clothes as anytime soon we might evacuate. I was still thinking if that is a good decision, as trees are still dancing to the beat that I never want to hear. 

It started to rain again, and the flood water from the backyard started to rise. A few centimeters and we were doomed. The first house before us already gave up its battle. Flood water already entered his turf. The house after us conceded before the main event. Early morning, when the jack fruit tree is swaying its branches, he already left the zone. The old man in the first house mentioned that the young lad fled immediately with his car as the fear of the trees falling is imminent, to which is true. If he did not leave, either his car will be in shambles with the falling debris or will be soaking wet due to flood entering the gates.

April checked the drainage in the backyard on the house after us. Due to the leaves being stuck on the waterways, rainwater did not flow, making it rise further. After she removed the leaves and branches of water from our yard, started to rescind. Too bad that if the young lad didn't leave the house before and after us were saved for such predicament.  


Now the water in front of us is the main enemy. Each time that a heavy downpour started, I immediately jump in the field zone and use my reliable scooper and pail to battle it out. I was successful in defending our turf. There are still damages with the HP of our house but nothing major. If I rate myself, it will be 2 stars out of 3,

We are in that situation for the whole day of Sunday, April and I take turns to sleep as we want to make sure that water will not be in our home anytime soon. 

> This might be marriage at work in small gestures.

Using the fan given to us from our church, we fanned each other while someone's resting, as it was a tiring day for everyone.

Monday morning at five, without any power, mobile data signal, clean water I left our home to buy some porridge in the city, I assessed the location and it was a mess. Trees that fall down, destroyed houses either roofs that were blown by the wind or trees that casually lay rest to it. 

In the meantime, I decided that we will relocate in Biñan till the power is back on as I have work in the coming days good thing that Monday's a US Holiday (Memorial Day) thus we are also on off.  Near nighttime, I received a notice that the power is back on, but we decided to go back in our home the next day as there are a couple of things that needs to be done and somehow with all the happenings from the previous days we just need a good sleep and rest.
