<div class="text-justify"> Technology, to me, has been a paradox. Obviously it has made life easy, but at the same time, perhaps it has made life complicated. [Source](https://pixabay.com/photos/laptop-apple-computer-desk-macbook-1846277/) Technology has had significant impact on our lives over time. Taking communication for example, many years ago, it was difficult for people not in the same vicinity to communicate. People had to communicate with letters which took so long to go back and forth. Gradually, telephones came in, but it was scarce and more expensive. Now, people on different continents, separated by oceans can communicate with each other as often and as long as possible. Thanks to technology, communication is as seamless as ever. People in long distance relationships can make it work because it's now easy to communicate. People can work from home now because of technology. These are things that one would never have imagined years ago. We have social media platforms now where people interact, get informed and communicate better. These improvements haven't come without complications. For example, easier communication has come with ease for crime and fraud to be committed. Malicious people now communicate easily and plan to cause harm to the innocent. People are getting scammed online because someone communicated in a deceitful way. Better communication means ways to commit fraud and other bad things can spread easily. It's not just in communication. Technology has made energy generation more efficient. Even transportation is better. We have cars and other vehicles to move about, even to far distances. However, our environment and the ozone layer has suffered from this because of the emissions as a result of this energy generation and vehicles. The gas emissions have caused harm over time. Climate change has become a big issue. This is the paradox of technology. While it seems that technology has solved one thing, it introduces another complication. Another good modern example is AI. AI was meant to make us more efficient, to help us learn better and to do tasks faster. However, it has also created a world where a lot is artificial, people are relying blindly on it and original content is getting rare. In fact, proof of humanity has now become an important concept these days because of the advent of Artificial intelligence. It is now more important to be able to identify who is human and what is a product of the human mind. This is the paradox of technology. --- Check out this week's Indiaunited contest [here](https://peakd.com/hive-197685/@indiaunited/indiaunited-new-contest-and-last-aec4b3db9cb9f) </div>
