I believe Artificial Intelligence is the most revolutionary invention of our time. The effects AI has had in virtually every aspect of our lives is unprecedented.

Over time, people have had differing opinions about this disruptive technology. Some believe AI is doing more harm, others believe AI is doing good.
I believe AI has a positive impact in the digital space today. I see AI as an incredible tool that has been used to drive a lot change in digital space and the world at large.

I acknowledge the fact that AI has been a disruptive agent since its rise to fame. This disruption hasn’t gone down well with a lot of people. The ability of AI to efficiently do a lot of jobs that humans do and in shorter time, has led to a good number of people becoming irrelevant in their jobs, and consequently losing their jobs. This is one of the major disruption AI has caused.

However, AI is a tool that can help people skill up and do their jobs more efficiently. I believe that those who accept that AI is here to stay, and use it to make their jobs easier and better would outlast those who don’t. What I am trying to say is that in the digital world, AI should be seen as more of a tool to help, rather than our replacement.

There are also concerns about AI blurring the lines between what is real and what is fake. With the advent of AI generated photos, videos and write ups that looks so identical to something real made by humans, many have developed difficulty in believing what they see in the digital space these days, understandably so. Just like with every new technology, I believe we will find a way to navigate the challenges brought about by the advent of AI.

Be that as it may, AI has done a lot for the advancement of humanity. In the digital space, people are able to do in hours or minutes, what would have taken years to do. Taking research as an example, AI has assisted in crucial research that has brought about life changing improvements. Without AI, a lot of these research would take a really long time to actualize. Even in day to day digital jobs, AI accomplishes tasks for us that initially took us days of toiling, stress and even money.

In the world of medicine, AI has been used to identify protein and DNA patterns. This has helped to developed incredible drugs for diseases, as well as curing disease that were previously considered incurable. Before AI, scientists have had difficulty identifying these patterns and it usually took years.

All around the world, AI is being used to solve technical problems. Problems that people have been trying to solve for decades. AI is driving our advancement as a civilization. AI is helping boost creativity in various facets of life. AI is a tool that we can use to learn and build ourselves to be better. Yes, the potential for abuse are there, and there are negative impacts of AI, but I believe that for AI, the good outweigh the bad.
