Is it better to live a life filled with the unknown? Where each and every day you face new and unexpected challenges that you didn't expect before?

Or is it better to live a life filled with consistent habits that you perform each day in hopes to make yourself the best possible version of yourself?

I think the answer lies in a healthy combination of these 2.

I think there's a huge gap in society where many people are forced into careers that they don't like and they end up living the same day for the next 50 years of their life as they are forced into the "rat race". This can cause issues of depression and we are already seeing the effects of this today.

But if you live a life that is constantly filled with the unexpected and you have no routine, then you're likely to not get a ton of work done on the things you love (depending on those things of course). 

So what if you find a healthy balance of the two. 

Here lies an important lesson to the good life (in my opinion):

If you can live a life that is filled with routine of the things you love to do that make you better each and every day and then have intermittent bursts of activity that is unplanned and unexpected, you will live a far better life and be far happier. 

You will get the benefits of routine and the benefits of spontaneity all at the same time.
