After a long wait we are finally going to see <em>Plants vs Zombies 3</em> on mobile. From the looks of the few screens available it appears that we are going to be returning to the roots of the franchise. Unfortunately, it is also very clear that we are going to see plenty of In-App Purchases (IAP) as well.

It does appear that we are going to see a mixture of zombies from the first two games mix it up a bit in the third. That is at least going to give the levels a bit of variety and possibly increase the challenges we will face. Judging by the pics some of the most popular plant-based weapons will be returning as well such as the giant potato and freezing pea shooter among many others.
<h2>Differences that could hurt</h2>
One difference that I can see immediately is a potential change in the way we hold our devices to play <em>Plants vs Zombies</em>. The first two games were played with our devices turned sideways. It appears this third entry is going to be played holding our devices upright. While this may help in covering our gameplay during work hours, it is not ideal for this type of game. Mainly due to the loss of screen real estate we are dealing with here. There simply is not going to be as much to work with and that sucks if you ask me.

<h2>Is it worthy of the name?</h2>
It is hard to tell at this point if <em>Plants vs Zombies 3</em> is going to be good or not. I am already skeptical based on the way the screen shots make the game appear. Vertical layout for a game that obviously benefits from a wider view is not instilling confidence in me here.
