Tomb Raider for Commodore Amiga Demo Released
The OpenLara project has been giving new life to the classic Tomb Raider game, allowing it to reach platforms never thought possible. From [the 3DO]( https://youtu.be/GN9RqG3UWWM) to the [Sega 32X (the original console it was intended for)]( https://youtu.be/JLbL7fJTACU) and now the Commodore Amiga. What else can Tomb Raider run on? What is interesting is just how good it looks on the Amiga, a computer not known for all that great 3D graphics (they were still quite new during its hay day).

Someone is Working on It

I know what many gamers are wondering, that patch. The special one that you didn’t want your parents knowing you had. The patch that made you proud to be a teenage owner of a computer that could run Tomb Raider.

Yeah, that patch.

Someone is already working on applying it to the various OpenLara ports.

HD Gotta Have 60 FPS Not Happening

Before you get your hopes up thinking this is going to be some magical port that has 60 FPS and HD graphics, no. This is running on the equivalent of a Commodore Amiga 1200, released in 1992, long before 3D graphics took over gaming. While it is a powerful computer, especially for the time, it is still quite a bit less than what modern gamers might find acceptable.

In gameplay the frame rate bounces between 10 and 19 frames per second. Obviously, what is onscreen greatly impacts the frame rate.

Just to be able to play Tomb Raider on the Commodore Amiga platform is impressive.

Right now, the version you can download has no sound. Just gameplay. It is not the complete game either, this is just a demo showing off what is getting worked on.

What platform would you like to see Tomb Raider ported to? I figure 16-bit and older platforms are just not capable of running this so Genesis, Atari 7800, Game Boy Color, etc are just pipe dreams.

Show the creator some support on [English Amiga Board](https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=120230), they have the download link available there.
