# I really wanted to go in a department store today to buy some ink(indian ink), but there were so much to do for this day I just ended up tiring myself out. *this drawing is made by me, anyone can use it in their blog if they want to or any other things they want to, but I suggest not to, cause it's not worth it* Hello guys, today I'm posting something, that some of the guys I talked to in the #general chat room inspired me to write. By the way, this drawing above is a drawing I promised to @wylink for his "Turmanos Sole - The nights sky" post. Well, this past days, I've been talking to some people who were asking for tips about how to improve their posts in the chat room. I'm not really a good content creator **yet**, I just got lucky with my **how to apply manga tones** post. These guys came to the room asking for someone to look into their post for them and give an opinion about their work. And with bad luck, I was the only one who was willing to help them during that time. Just a reference for others who will give tips to other steemit users, specially to those who already have good position in the platform. When you give advice, please don't be harsh to the one who's asking the advice. Tell them what you think **honestly** but not in a harsh way. Me, I use this method in psychology that we call **"sandwich method"** were we compliment first, then say the problem, then compliment again. A good example is when someone cooks for you and you find that the food he or she made for you kinda lacks some taste or ingredient. Here in Philippines we have this sour stew dish that we call "sinigang". This "sinigang" gets it's sour taste from a fruit called *tamarind*. Okay, the scenario is, a "wife" cooked a "sinigang" for her husband and the taste of the "sinigang" is awfully off. I mean the *soup* was really tasteless as if it was just water, and the pork was really hard(BTW you can also use fish, beef even goat in making "sinigang"). To solve this, first tell her "wow, you made sinigang" (yes, first notice the effort). Then go say this "this food you made is good **BUT**..."(don't forget the **"but"**, there are other words such as *may,if,also, seems so* but **but** is the easiest and the most powerful among them all). Then say the problem in the softest way you can, "it would had tasted better if you boiled the pig longer and added more tamarind", there, 'you already stated the problem' ,at this time you already succeeded. Congratulations! And to end it , just say another compliment like "but it really is good, I loved it". See? You made some compliments and successfully sent the message. You might tell me, "**turtle, why not just tell him or her that it's good so he or she will be happy?**". Don't do that guys, we are trying to help someone. When you are trying to help someone by giving them advice, you would not tell things that they **only want to hear**, tell them **the real problem** and **don't run from them**. Helping also needs courage to be done. So, **be brave** for the one you are helping. This tip is actually applicable in many situations and there are other more ways, not just the **sandwich method**. # Now for the guy that I talked to. He asked me what do I think about his post. Well the truth is, in my opinion, it was missing some elements in it but there are good things in it too. *@wylink 's work in one of his posts* First he asked me out about the drawing,he was kinda telling me that he doesn't really draws and this is one of his new attempts in illustrating. Well, yes, it needs improvement--but the thing that it is an "original" is one of it's **good qualities**. Instead of looking up for some pictures in another website( like I do sometimes), he attempted producing an **original content** which most people **forget** that is **important**! Showing you're art to another person or stranger takes some courage to do as well! I admire that! Then I looked at his writing. Hmm, the writing was kinda decent compared to all my entries for @playfulfoodie 's #marveloustales (please join that contest). But the thing I noticed is, it's kinda short, I think it will work for his first months, cause somehow I find some appeal in his writing (cause I write really terrible stories). **So in my conclusion, improving his drawings would be better but he should not put all his energy in there. This drawing has some color and sense already, it's some kind of abstract painting but not really...** **Improving the writing would be way better specially if he could make it longer, because it fits into some kind of novel.** # And then there is this other guy I'll not be mentioning his name cause I haven't asked for his permission about putting his name in this post. This guy showed me his post about an animal. I am not sure if it is really his work, but he stated to me that it is his work. About the work he showed me, it's good, but I told him that I cannot give him any advice. Why? I looked at this guys blog page and saw his posts. This guy posts 4 times a day and all of his post doesn't exceed 10$ in rewards. His rep is above 50 already and he was been posting for a long time already. At this rate, only he can answer the question, **"how" to get better**. All I said was" you're move into changing into a new genre was a smart move in, the only thing that I can tell you is 'if this genre(animals) doesn't work for you're blog, you can always try out another genre'". Then he replied, "I post about things I want, but thank you that is kinda helpful" That was a good response from the one asking advice. In the end, doing what you want is the most important thing. You will continue working on something as long as you enjoy it, and that is a very important thing for doing blogs, specially if you do it daily or often. Anyway, this post got a little longer again today, I need to end it here. If you got some questions or you find something wrong about my blog please leave it in the comments sections below. Thank you for reading and please, **resteem, upvote, follow and leave a comment** to help me and my blog.
