Ripple has reclaimed the fourth place in the CMC100-ranking where it has remained throughout most of 2020. The price of XRP [dropped sharply in December 2020](https://medium.com/the-capital/cmc100-report-52-2020-ripple-drops-43-7-amidst-sec-lawsuit-22d45abd319c) after the Ripple Foundation was sued by the SEC. The foundation has since won a few legal skirmishes, but the courts are still in the early stages of trial.
