Spring is only pretending to be here for this Mountain Hike ๐Ÿ“ท
Another HUGE photoset of my nearby mountains I seem to never get enough of.

### Spring or not?
So, spring is trying really hard to be here, but in the mountains, it seems to still be winter every night, as there is plenty of snow still. Here the lower elevations and south exposures are nice and bare, looking like some easy hiking.

These are a bit deceiving though since the snow in the trees, in the valleys and on the north faces yet, is still far from spring conditions.

Here is the evidence in the valley trail, as there was about 30cms of fresh powder from the last few nights. It did still make some beautiful scenery though!

## The Bears are Back!
Oh an this is the first sign of bear I've seen this season. Time to start packing bear spray again. These were a black bear, that make a great trail to follow (it was travelling the opposite direction to us luckily) so it was perfect to use his bear prints to help through the post holing snow on the way up.

Fortunately, we were able to follow his path about 2 kms, and he gave us a very nice route up a rib towards the summit approach. You know, the animals often know the best routes, I find.

Even the Bunny's are ready for spring. As you can see, center of photo, this rabbit has lost all its winter (white) fur and is ready for spring time camouflage.

OK, so we went through quite a bit of forests, some cliff bands to avoid and lots of REALLY steep terrain, but finally started approaching to the summit ridge, where we knew the views would be great.

Oh, and they are!!!

Definitely an area you need to stay well off the edges, as you can't tell what's got rock under you and what doesn't. Luckily the trees are the best givaway for this, to ensure staying well clear of dangerous cornices, which there were some layered ones still from the winter snow pack.

I love the panoramas!!!

What a skyline for this one. Love it!

The steep slopes to avoid!

The down route ridge. Some tricky spots in the rocks, but otherwise, not too risky.

It was an awesome weekend for a hike, and plenty warm out, I'm just looking forward to getting some higher altitudes without the snow. That seems a long ways off still. But happy to enjoy every chance out in the mountains!

I hope you enjoyed coming along with me on another mountain adventure!
