**Question: what are the advice you will give to the new user on hive**

Hello
As a newbie myself, I am still trying to understand the ropes of hive and how it works. Nevertheless i can still share one or two advices that could help in no particular order.

1 **consistency**. As a newbie, being consistent is key to  growing and learning here, you have to show up as often as you can, by posting meaningful write up in respect to the prompt given,at least five(5)days of the week, even when it seems as no one is upvoting your post.This can actually be challenging because most times you're out of ideas and can't seem to know what to write. But *where there's a will, there's a way*

2 **sticking to one or two communities for starters**
As a newbie is best to find a niche(community )you can work and flow with. This actually helps to build your writing skills and create ideas and always give you a recognition in that community which may lead to possible upvotes.

3 **engaging** this cannot be overemphasized, it's actually very important. Engaging with other hivers, by up voting, commenting and networking with other helps alot. For instance you can use and take wave as an advantage. It puts you in the faces of people and makes you visible. 

4 **observant and explore** as a newbie you have to be observant, when others make post you go through it to understand what dy are doing and how it's being done. You can't go to a community and post outside what the community is all about or ignore guidelines and expect engagement. For instance you don't go to food community and post sports. Being observant is necessary and knowing the right tags too is important.While building in a particular niche you explore, by browser other communities see what they do and see how you can partake or engage.
