If you ask me, I'll say that **scalability** is the most powerful feature of te Hive blockchain. Scalability according to [Hive information page](https://hive.io/about) is explained as "Future proof resource-bandwidth & storage system". Looking at the definition of Hive, we can still see the emphasis on its bearing capacity to host dapps and users in the future.

For me, I see sustainability being encrypted in the word "scalability". We'll all agree that sustainability has to do with meeting our own present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. So while we're ability to draw maximally from Hive all it has to offer, it is built to allow the future developers to still maximize its effectiveness for usecases not yet envisaged as at today.

Just as Hive is future minded, many of the projects BUIDLing here also has this elastic feature. One of such is the @LeoFInance project which pioneered the possibility of creating cross-chain bridges  from Hive to other blockchains and today we have the Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and the latest Polygon as operational examples. With the successes achieved, many other Hive communities and developers are also deploying the cross-chain linkage features.

This is just the beginning, Last year while celebrating Hive's first fork anniversary, Khal and his team delivered the [CUBDefi](https://cubdefi.com/) project built on the Binance Smart Chain. Here as we celebrate Hive's second fork anniversary, we have been watered with the optimized yield possibilities of [PolyCUB](https://polycub.com/). With this trend which is not a mere coincidence, I'm sure that by the time we celebrate fifth anniversary of Hive fork, we'll have several shades of CUB on different blockchains. Don't be surprised if we see things like ThorCUB, TelosCUB, TezozCUB and more.

Perhaps that was the encrypted message in @ipixel's graphic expression of CUB Cookies in a box. Perhaps he didn't even get the meaning, but I just saw it this way while brainstorming on this post. Indeed, the CUB Cookies Box has more. We just saw PolyCUB in March 2022, we can't tell what next is unfolding.

Already, the tokenomics of PolyCUB has proven beyond reasonable doubts that its a step ahead of CUB on BSC with the optimized yield and long term high APY. However, it's beautiful to see that PolyCUB was not created to stand alone, but it was built to leverage on CUBDefi while also furnishing $CUB as well as the base $LEO here on Hive.

taskmaster4450le in [this post](https://leofinance.io/@taskmaster4450le/will-xpolycub-hit-usd100) has made a case for a $100 xPolyCUB. In his post he kept buttressing on the "sustainability of PolyCUB. 

> What we will state is the basic premise of the sustainability idea is to have a deflationary token (POLYCUB) which is continually purchased through fees generated by the different Kingdoms. At some point, the USD price has to go up since the emission of POLYCUB becomes so slow. If we follow this out 6 months, it gets fairly easy to see.

In other words, the path is to keep building out new mechanisms that can assist in the sustainability of the Polycub system. The end game is to keep people engaged and using the platform. I can't agree less with him. The possibilities that are unraveled on daily basis on Hive blockchain tells us there is more to blockchain technology and cryptocurrency that the world is yet to see. Khal and his team are opening up the puzzle with CUB series and we know there is more. The future looks better and it's never a wrong decision for one to get involved now.
