It is time for a newbies know your ruleset guide, there are lot of questions always going through my mind when every I decide to battle and I come across any ruleset, I had to start thinking about the rule set to pick out of the options and the strategy to follow that will go inline with other rule set and favour them. It took me a long while to figure out each rule set work hand in hand with some abilities that will always work in favour and also there are some abilities that will surely work against such rules which give players the option to choose their wins or destruction. 

Taking a look at the two ruleset I had in this battle, Manuevers which give all melee monster card the **Reach** ability which means they have the chance to attack from the second position (if they dont have sneak or opportunity ability) and also the up close and personal ruleset which allow only melee monster cards in this battle. To me this is one perfect combo ruleset because they complement each other and as a newbie there are things to consider when selecting your cards. 

- **Type of cards and placement:** when you figure out you are only using melee cards, you need to know melee cards don't have the power to attack cards health without first destroying the card armour unlike magic cards, so you need to bring in cards that have enough armour on them and place them in the first and last position just to withhold some attacks

- **Cards Abilities**: there are some abilities I always recommend in this kind of battle, first is **Demoralize** which reduce melee attack by 1 ( make sure to use as many demoralize ability as possible), **thorn** which deal damage back to attack and **shield** with reduce damage receive from melee cards  (you can place this ones in the first position or as backline) then **sneak or opportunity** based cards to attack from the middle position

Checking out the battle I had with this rule, I had to go with the death element and use a -1 melee, speed and health attack summoner to weaken my opponent cards, then picked up **Cursed Windeku** with thorn among other abilities as the frontline, **Shadowy snitch** as my second position with reach and affliction ability. **Pelacor Deceiver** with the retaliate ability among other abilities, **Silent Sha VI** with the sneak ability among other abilities , **Harklaw** with the demoralize and shield abilities and lastly is **Legionnaire alvar** with demoralize ability among other abilities  

I have -3 melee attack on my opponent cards which weaken them and gave me upper hand against him even though he came up with weak cards  and if it is more strong cards, I will still defeat him because the most important thing is to weaken his cards strength.  Knowing your ruleset and the required abilities that will go in like with such rule set is really important in battles. How do you play yours?
