Two months ago, I realized I needed to take my physical and mental health seriously. I noticed that I had been getting headaches and I had to take note and understand why I was getting frequent head ache. After days of trying to understand, it was clear that the cause was mental strain and lack of mental stimulation.

Most of the time I would find myself spending too much time in my mind overthinking and worrying about the future.

When I was in a situation where I needed to process some emotions like sadness, I would immediately sleep to avoid them. This would result to some sort of unexplained tiredness when I woke up. I would ask my self why it was happening because I was resting so I should wake up freshened up.

It was until I learned that it was an unhealthy habit of coping with heavy emotions. I didn't process them, I avoided them and my body carried their weight while I was asleep.

I needed to change that, and since then I have been doing simple exercises like simple yoga and pilates. I also add some few steps around the neighborhood and intentional dances a few times a week.

This exercises help stimulate my mind and keep my body healthy.

Whenever I am experiencing heavy emotions, I nolonger avoid them, I give them their space and ground them. Some exercise like meditation really help me process them. Before I sleep I make sure my mind isn't heavy with thoughts and emotions.

Since then, I nolonger wake up tired or experience frequent headaches.
