If I weren’t such a statue, if I weren’t turned to stone, with my little pebbles staring through you, I would drown. Sighing waves break against me, I am still. Little sea creatures in an army, I am still. Restless clouds eclipse a blonde ray, I am still… If I hadn’t learned to hold my breath, if I hadn’t learned to swim, with my dolphin-like body gliding around you, I would drown. The crack and the adjoining boom – the painful fate will never waver me from this stoic state. Never-ending scenes of you pierce my skull. The tearing clouds and the torment of my insides ripping. I am silent at peace with our agony.
