Recently I made the decision to stop watching my daily soap opera. It was something that I had watched for many, many years and with that much time invested, this was not an easy decision. I first want to say, if you watch one, I am in no way putting you down or persecuting you for it. I am merely sharing my viewpoint of the show that I watched all those years. It was very amusing and the fact that it was so unbelievable was one of the reasons I was so hooked! I hope you enjoy my humorous take on the show I loved for so long.

So what’s the fascination?
What‘s the soap‘s allure?
Is it some kind of fairy tale
Or a big pile of manure?

The women are all beautiful
The guys are buff and tan.
The kids grow twice as fast
As a normal human can.

Money there must grow on trees
Because they’re all so rich.
No one ever works for more
Than one two hour shift.

Everyone’s related
In some way or another.
His father’s brother’s ex
Has now become his mother.

The couples, they keep changin’
They pass from to and fro
Until there is nobody
New for them to know.

The marriages are many
They always say “I do.”
They never mean “til death we part”
One screw up and they’re through.

The children have a sleepover
Almost every single day.
They only seem to be around
On special holidays.

They never seem to watch TV
Except the local news,
Covering the latest crime
They don’t have any clues.

The villains have their part to play
Without whom there’d be no show.
They torment those the viewers love
And consider they’re hero.

The danger and the drama
They never seem to learn.
All part of the story
A page for you to turn.

So if you watch it daily
Remember these few words.
It’s all crazy make believe
And utterly absurd!
