In response to this week interesting prompt; Explain how you would convince people to vote for you as president of your country, here is my response.

I'm a citizen of Nigeria, Nigeria is located in West Africa and if you are conversant with reading African news, social media post, and  African literatures works    you would know that it   revolves around bad leadership, exploitation, unemployment ,bribery and corruption, insecurities in our countries and poor leadership.


Also Nigeria has numerous ethnic groups, ranging from the North, South, East and West.
Trying to convince Nigerian to vote you, you have to reach out to the need of all  these ethnic groups and also correct the failures of our past leaders.

Considering the numerous ethnic groups in Nigeria and their numerous languages, if I'm to convince them to vote for  me as a leader and also win theirs hearts, I would start with learning how to communicate and converse with the people in their various languages, because that's the only way you would get to know the heart of this people and also understand their challenges and problems.
Communication is key, it's in communication that you would know their need as a community. 

After learning to communicate with the various ethnic groups, the next necessary step is engaging them from the grassroots, building connections with their local government leaders, if they have a king and queen, you reach out to the masses from their natives and local leaders. With that you will campaign directly to the uneducated, old, and many more.
You would successfully create your audience through campaigns, rallies, and  bill boards  in a way that the local masses would understand.

Nigerians have suffered and witnessed unfulfilled promises, false promises and false hopes, during campaigns ,  as an aspiring leader it's very necessary to be truthful, transparent and extreme truthful while giving a manifesto.
I will get to their heart by being truthful and honest about my intentions as an aspiring leader.

The next phase would be your manifesto and goals as a leader , you have to focus on the main issues that is being faced by the citizens of this country,  I will start with an improvement that would Favour the youths and children, because the youths have more interest in politics than the old, and the major problem an average Nigeria youth faces  in Nigeria, is the issue of unemployment, I will start with the assurance that more youths will be employed, a plan to empower more youths to also be self employed. This is one major way to get the youths interested in voting you as a leader.
Also, focus on education, building a solid educational system and putting an end to constant strikes in  universities, equipping children in public schools and also employing more teachers.

The impact of power supply, can't be neglected in any community or state, we all know the important of light.
Almost all the states in Nigeria suffer from poor power supply , providing good  power supply is a sure way to win the heart of the masses.

And lastly is security, the issue of insecurity in the country is alarming, so providing security to the masses is what everyone wants, one sure way of winning the heart of Nigerians is promising to provide security for the masses.

To create awareness in 36 states in Nigeria, social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and many more will really help in creating an awareness and creating my presence.
I would focus on creating a presence in this platforms , making my goals knows to this public and also creating awareness of my manifestos via social media.
Nigeria also has different religions, it's important to create a team that would connect you to the various religions.

This is how I would convince the masses in my country to elect me as a president. But considering how greedy our leaders are in this part of the world, everyone aspires to be a leader one day, but the fact remains that we might have what it takes to get to that position, but the system is so corrupt and rigged.
