The office grind is wearing on me. Even though I need the money, I am looking forward to moving on. Don't get me wrong, my co-workers are great. The work is basically all record keeping for the government. As you can imagine, it is pretty tedious, although not stressful or difficult. My mind has been wandering more frequently and this song has been popping into it, haha. https://youtu.be/WZaWWLSXJtk Here are the lyrics for those not skilled at deciphering screams: ``` this is what we are this is what we've become semi-conscious parts of a highly refined system we are the wires part of this great machine programmed for other's purpose harnessed for other's greed your free time is no longer free spend each moment trying to make ends meet this world moves too fast to stay ahead forever falling behind until we're dead our lives are worth more than mere numbers we must demand more for our contributions object to living in quiet desperation this is a call for change and rebellion this is a system in need of some disruption ``` The band was from upstate NY, where I grew up. I saw them a number of times at various local shows. A buddy and I caught them at a reunion show a few years back playing on a big stage in a field in the middle of nowhere. Good times. The whole Life In Ruin album has a lot of relatable messages.
