Vanlife Spot Finder: Land Boundary Mode Task Request
#### Overview
This development task request describes the functionality of a proposed land boundary mode feature. Currently, campsites are single lat/lon points reported by people through various websites. The distance from a point of interest such as a gym and a campsite are thus between two lat/lon coordinates. The land boundary mode will enable distance calculation and visualization between a point of interest such as a gym and the closest point on a land boundary such as a national forest. This will enable finding potential campsites close to points of interest that have not been reported by anyone.

#### Details
The following mockup demonstrates what the proposed feature will look like once implemented. The example shows the highlighted Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest border because the closest point of the border is within the specified distance of 10 miles to a gym. Note that other land borders are not shown in this mockup.

#### Components
This feature will require changes to the map view, control box, and data scraping software components.

###### Control Box
A mode selection input should be added to the control box to allow switching between the new land boundary mode and the existing reported spot mode.

###### Map View
At a minimum, the land boundary border should be rendered when the closest point of the border is within the user specified distance to a point of interest. When it is not within the specified distance, it should not be rendered. A better visualization scheme may be devised.

###### Scraping
Land boundary data is available through sources such as OpenStreetMaps through the Overpass API. The API has limitations on the number of requests, so data should be cached and updated periodically rather than used all of the time.
