 The Komsomol in the fates of many of us is the school of life.  Energetic, enterprising, educated people did not hide or ache when perestroika demanded from young qualities that would help to fit into the new conditions.  Some of them turned out right away, others filled cones, licked their wounds, and again and again start their own business. 

 Sergei Kovalkov is a civil servant, but his grasp, his boldness, his desire to receive education are also characteristic of him, the former Komsomol secretary.  Let's go through the years of his life.  June 7, 1950.  It's Sergey's birthday.  He was born in Novosibirsk. 

 His father, Ivan Ivanovich - railway worker, mother Evdokia Efimovna - account worker.  The family was big, five children, but when the virgin lands began to be developed, they left for Kazakhstan, to the city of Atbasar.  Now it is Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.  Here the family lived from 1964 to 1968.  After graduation, Sergei studied at the vocational school, he received the specialty of a tractor driver, a combine operator. 

 Over three summer seasons, he threshed about a thousand tons of grain.  This is how much bread rolls you can bake from the flour that you would get from this wheat?  1967 year.  Admitted to the ranks of the Komsomol.  From that year began his seniority.  The family returned to Novosibirsk.  Sergei became a student of the Toguchin Forestry Technical School.  Despite this, in November of the same year, 1968, he was drafted into the army.

  This was the first appeal, when they served not three years, but two.  Sergei received two more specialties: radio telegraph and radio operator.  Military actions did not bypass Sergei.  Father fought with the Nazis, the son - with the Chinese border violators in the Semipalatinsk region.  He returned home, and again in the technical school.  He became a Communist in 1971.

  1973 year.  Graduated from the technical school. 

 The forester Kovalkova is sent to work in the Biological Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in Novosibirsk - the senior laboratory assistant.  Sergei did not stay here, he was more attracted to living with people.  He already had a family, with his wife Valentina Ivanovna met in Myldzhino, where he was in practice. 

 Apartments in Novosibirsk was not, the salary is small.  Sergei and Valya decided to go to the White Yar.  Valya was born and grew up here, Sergei was in practice.  I remember Valya very young.  I remember how she performed in some festive concert.  I danced something classical, ballet.  Sergei was sent to the Klyukvinskoye forest district, a forest warden. 

 It was a great joy.  Apartments, however, was not mine, Sergei lived with his aunt, and Valya stayed in Novosibirsk.  The salary was slightly higher.  Vasily Yefimovich Treskulov worked as an assistant to the forester; he also taught the profession of a young specialist.  Then Kovalkova transferred to the White Yar, first a forester, then an engineer of protection and protection of the forest.  He worked for about four years. 

 1975 year.  Sergei was elected a member of the Bureau of the Komsomol District Committee.  Andrei Larionov, Victor Turbin, Galina Goncharova, Boris Zolotarev, Valery Lukin came along with him.  A year later, Sergei became the second secretary of the Komsomol district committee.  Together with him worked Julia Nechunayeva, Tatiana Ivanova, Jacob Roo, Nina Chirkova. 

 Young people, Komsomol members participated in social movements, came forward with initiatives, initiative.  This was the time of creation and work with Komsomol-youth brigades, which contributed to the economy of the district. 

 1978 year.  Kovalkov graduated from the Siberian Technological Institute in Krasnoyarsk.

  1979 year.  Sergei Ivanovich sent to Stepanovka in the Maksimoyar leshoz, the chief forester.  Worked there for four years.  

1983 year.  Leskhoz Vissarionov Bor, here he was the chief forester.  Interesting and important work.  The task was set to conduct complex management of forestry in cedar forests.  Sergei Ivanovich is involved in public affairs, he heads a party organization in the leshoz, as well as the district election commission - for several years. 

 In the district administration there was a post of the chief of the department of nature management, industry and transport.  It was taken by Kovalkov.  Then he became deputy head of the district administration.He was engaged in more economic problems, was responsible for the work of the municipal service in the district.

  1989 year.  Sergei Ivanovich ends his studies at the international management faculty at Tomsk State University, receiving a second higher education.  The position of inspector of state control over forests is another very serious work. 

 year 2001.  Director of the Maximyar leshoz.  

2003 year.  Participant of the Fourth All-Russian Congress of Foresters in Moscow.  From the Tomsk region spoke at the plenary session Sergei Ivanovich - on the problems of protecting forests from fires.  There were other important events: Kovalkov was awarded the badge "For services to the Verkhneketsky district".  Honorary Diploma of the Governor and a valuable gift-for hours.

  2008 year.  Chief specialist of the State Control Committee for Forests of the Department of Administration of the Region.  

year 2013.  Service in the economic leshoz is already in retirement age.  2016 year.  Went to a well-deserved rest.
