Good day to everyone, a week has passed and it is time for another Social Media Challenge. Since November 2023 when I first started on beginner tips and subsequently another post on a part 2 on January earlier this year. Today I will be continuing with this beginner tips series with a part 3 so that it can provide insights to new Splinterlands players and help them onboard to the game quickly.

**Recap**

What I shared in my previous posts
- (Part 1) Finding information about the game (Splinterlands Discord, Hive Blockchain blog post, other useful websites such as Splintercards), making friends in the community, study Top Battles to learn about card placement
- (Part 2) Learning how to grow by understand the various components of rewards to gather more rewards.

If you have followed my posts closely and adopting to what I've shared, you probably would have gathered a significant of rewards (soul bound cards and SPS)

**Turning Losses into Wins**

*Consistent Review of Matches*

Every match is a new data point be it win or lose. There is a reason why the game is developed in a way that allows us to re-look at our past matches.

![Screenshot 2024-02-17 at 2.38.30 AM.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/vaynard86/23tGXZhLUrvTY8VU16dbjs85SAb1Dz1Bj1Q2kyLMN4MZZSEitaGFTSo2K4mbLoHCEwzY7.png)

Every match has a unique opponent, different mana, different ruleset and different available Splinter for choice. My suggestion is that you collate the data past matches by mana then by Splinter. This will help you review what works and what does not, especially those with special rulesets.

If you are stuck or realize that there are some rulesets that you do not perform, fret not as you will be able to find matches from top battles time to time and examine how other players do lineup selction for those rulesets as seen in the screenshot below.

I myself also continuously looking out for matches and doing analysis to better my gameplay. You will get better with every new match you see and analyze.

*Tech Cards*
While you analyze battles you will realize that certain rulesets will require a specific set of cards to thrive. E.g Immunity and Cleanse for Noxious Fumes for ruleset, Protect and Flying for Earthquake etc.

Such information can be obtained by the various Battle Mage Secret posts from Splinterlands players and do ensure you get them into your collection to boost your winning rate on such rulesets.

*Grow Smartly*
With so many cards to buy, it will not make sense to buy every single card available unless you are a whale to begin with. In view of this, we can leverage the match analysis activity above. Instead of doing a spot the differences, we do a spot the commonality. From there you will realize what you use most in your matches and these will be the cards that you should buy and upgrade to make your lineup even stronger and win more matches. Do also note to not just upgrade cards, the summoners also need to upgrade whenever possible to unlock higher levels of cards.

**Closing**
Hope that today's sharing will be of insight to our new Splinterlands players and help you grow steadily. Remember one thing, Splinterlands has so much to learn everyday, so keep on learning. See you in the next post!
