**The other day I wrote a post about Steemit goals - short and long-term. I forgot to mention that 1,000 Steem in the form of Steem Power was one of my short term goals. Recently, I hit 1,000 followers and so I saw I was closing in on 1,000 Steem (SP) and thought, here is another short term goal I can strive for. Well, today I hit that goal after just two months.**

**Now, it would be really impressive if I did that without buying any Steem, or converting Bitcoin and Altcoins to Steem and then Powering Up. But, that's not what I did. I have bought Steem, in a round-about way, via the aforementioned cryptos. But that's a good thing.**

**You see, I truly believe in the power of Steem and Steemit as a platform; I've said it many times before. I think this is the Facebook of the blockchain and I completely believe it's the future of social media. The founders Dan and Ned have come up with something so beautiful here, and I really mean that. I'm actually getting to the point where I'm taking Steemit for granted. I sometimes get frustrated if my posts don't make a certain amount, but I shouldn't. And you shouldn't, either.**

**Think if we were to just post what we are posting here on Facebook. What do you get in return? Nothing! Your friends might "like" your post, but what does that "like" do for you? Nothing! Facebook generates money *from* its users, whereas Steemit generates money *for* its users. This is the great difference that people soon will see. And when they do, boy you better believe me when I tell you they'll be pissed they didn't start sooner. They'll be pissed that they didn't come over to Steemit when you and I did! Hell, I wished I would've begun this time last year!**

**When they do figure it out though, they'll be heading over in droves. In masses. We should encourage it. Steemit is a platform where more truly is merrier! The more people that join Steemit, vying for the same Steem and SBDs that you have, the more the value of these cryptos will rise.**

**The inflation rate of Steem and SBDs is already set, and every year it's going to get smaller and smaller, until one day it reaches a fixed rate. (was it .1%? I forget)**

**The point is that I, and so many of you see great things on the horizon for Steemit, otherwise we wouldn't be here!**
