**At Hardfork 19, which took place on June 19th, 2017, the price of Steem was around $2.00. I would've thought that after the hardfork, steem would've risen dramatically because people would want to get in due to everyone's upvote going way up. That didn't happen. I mean, it went up slightly about four days after the hardfork, but has been trending down ever since to it's current ~$1.60 price.**

**A part of me thinks that Poloniex had something to do with Steem's unwillingness to rise, as the exchange *temporarily closed* withdrawals and deposits of Steem and SBDs. I don't know how long they did this for, but it felt like a long time. I'm guessing it was around 10 days or so. Luckily, I didn't have any Steem or SBD trapped inside Poloniex's deathgrip. But as I understand it, a lot of people couldn't get their steem out, so they were either forced to keep it in the exchange, or trade for another crypto and perhaps use another exchange such as Bittrex or Blocktrades that didn't have a hold on withdrawals and deposits of Steem/SBD.**

**I almost see what Poloniex did as similar to what the big players are doing with the manipulation of silver. I mean, they are one of the biggest players when it comes to exchanges for cryptos, are they not? I think that had everyone who wanted to been able to take out their Steem at the moment they wanted to, we would've seen a healthy rise in the price.**

**Anyway, due to the dip in price over the past few days, I can proudly say I got out of *all other cryptos* and put 100% into Steem. You might call me foolish and tell me that we're not at the bottom yet, but I saw a big dip and decided to act. I also truly believe in the power of Steemit as a platform and Steem as a crypto and what it can do. I believe it's the future of social media. With the selling of all of my ETH, LTC, BTC, DOGE, and GNT, Now I'm close to 1,000 Steem. It's not that I will never buy any other crypto again, but I made a healthy profit on my ETH, so why not cash out?**
