It’s easy to get caught up in our own worlds where we forget about the important people in our lives. A lot of people can be so self-involved that we avoid eye contact with others in the streets or begin muttering our daily tasks to ourselves, ignoring others.

When we get into these states we can often forget about how important our connection with other living, breathing human beings is. Our focus remains on work, study, or other stressful situations, forgetting that everyday we must foster our relationships with others.

Living in the city, it can be especially hard to break out of this pattern as it seems most people are disconnected from others. But it doesn’t have to be this way at all. More than anything, people want to feel a sense of love and connection from others, whether they will admit to it or not.

As a human being, we need and thrive off of the connection we make and grow with others. 
Quite often it is the people who seem the most disconnected that need the connection the most. Don’t underestimate how much a smile or a hug can change someone’s entire day, possibly even their whole week. 

So whether it be just a smile and an acknowledgement to a stranger in the street, or catching up and connecting with some old friends, it’s time to get out of your head and realise that connecting with other people can be one of the most beautiful experiences life has to offer. You never know how much that other person needed that loving energy, or what a beautiful connection can be made from a single interaction.
