<div class=text-justify> We exist in a time where social media has overwhelmed the world, and being a multifunctional tool, loads of people have different ways to make use of it for their own benefits. Some will use it as a tool to promote their skills, services, and businesses; others will use it as a tool to get fame or make wealth; and the process of achieving all of this tends to make some people do things they wouldn't have done in the physical world. When we consider these, it brings us to the question of whether people should be judged by their acts on social media or not. Personally, when we look at the world today, you'll notice most people on social media present themselves in a way that's the opposite of who they're in the physical world. That's, you might see some people in the virtual world on social media acting like a dove; in the physical world, they're wolves, and there are some who act like they're gentle as sheep in the real world, but when you come across them in the virtual world of social media, you'll realize they're terror and a menace to whoever crosses their lane. Now with all of this lifestyle and the way social media has become, we know most people see influencers and their popular friends on social media as a mentor to look up to and draw inspiration from, so with all of that being the order of the day, would we then overlook someone who impacts life's negatively on social media, even when those they impact now replicate the same actions in the physical world? I don't think that's ideal; everyone should be accountable for whatever he or she does anywhere they find themselves, regardless of whether it is online or offline. With that being said, I believe we can judge an individual based on their social media presence and presentation of themselves; even the Bible says in: > ***Matthew 12 Vs. 34b say's that;** out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.* So with that Bible verse backing and the popular quote that `there's no smoke without a fire`, it simply shows that the way someone presents themselves on the social media space is from the abundance of their capacity and their thoughts within; if they don't have such traits hidden somewhere within them, then there's no way such an act will play out from them. I'm not an exception; for instance, I'm an introvert and hardly talk in the physical world, but when I'm on social media, I tend to express myself freely. Does that mean I'm living a double-standard life? No, it only shows that I tend to speak when I'm around those I'm close to. If we speak regularly to a point, then I can be honest and express the real me to you, and I won't say someone shouldn't judge me by what I do to them online, because it's the same me who's online on social media that's also here in person. So in conclusion, everyone should be responsible for their profile and actions on social media and can be judged by them, because you can't act like a saint in the physical world and then cyberbully someone on social media to the point where they commit suicide, and yet you don't want us to judge you based on that; you're who you're regardless of where you find yourself. That's about it for now. I hope you enjoyed the read and learned something. Do have a wonderful day and stay blessed. *** Thumbnail designed on [canva](https://www.canva.com/design/DAF-T8Q4TV8/5mmoAZC2TqXhG--05E7Spg/edit?utm_content=DAF-T8Q4TV8&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton) *** </div> Posted Using [InLeo Alpha](https://inleo.io/@vickoly/should-social-media-behavior-define-us)
