Elon Musk to rebrand Twitter to X 🙈 Nostr announced paid subscriptions and revenue sharing (was a joke ;), Instagram Threads added rate limits too (no joke)

Was sagt ihr dazu?

>- increased uptime: redundancy in relay infrastructure gets you an expected 99.999% liveliness
>- enhanced reach: if someone is following you they are very likely to see your notes
>- revenue sharing: every time someone zaps you you'll get a percent of it

## English

Elon Musk made a surprising announcement yesterday to rename Twitter to X and say goodbye to the legendary blue Twitter logo. What will people say to tweeting in the future then, x-ting, ex-ting. Worst business decision ever since Elon took over Twitter. Way to destroy a valuable brand.

Nostr has now announced paid subscriptions and Zap revenue sharing, but remains vague on how much Nostr+ will cost and how exactly the revenue will be shared. Anyway, the announcement is a bit confusing. Could be a typo. Just imagined something similar a few days ago, am curious how it will be implemented. But increasing the reach for paid accounts is a double edged sword.

Meta Threads has now apparently introduced rate limits, read limits and how many accounts you can follow. However, there is no exact statement from Meta on this. It's ironic, really. Partly understandable to combat bots, but the limits shouldn't restrict normal users. Twitter used to allow free (rate-limited) API access and alternative front-ends.

What do you guys think about the recent social media news?
